Exploring Life & Business with Royce Pearson of Lion’s Vision Photography

Today we’d like to introduce you to Royce Pearson.

Royce, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Creativity has always been a part of my DNA, I just never knew how it would manifest as a tangible part of my life until I was introduced to photography. My first encounter with photography was at a young age when disposable cameras ruled the world and everyone had one. I loved the whined up noised disposable cameras made right before snapping for a photo. The anticipation for the images to be developed was probably the longest and most wonderful process. Giving the opportunity to use one in my younger years, one could only imagine the excitement I felt on the inside. This unknowingly was the start of my journey as a photographer and the birth of my business Lion’s Vision Photography. I really wanted to nature the passion I felt when I held my first camera all those years ago. My passion for photography is a direct link to my creativity and I enjoy showing the world who I am through my lens.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Ha! I laugh because the word “smooth” was farthest from the top of my list of words to describe this journey. Nothing about this journey was smooth. It is hard work teaching yourself something that is always evolving and never having one direction. Being a creative and entrepreneur is often time a lonely road to travel. It is long sleepless nights, uncertainty of the journey, and lack of support. The biggest struggle I had to deal with is the lack of support from close friends and family, you know the ones who say they are there to support but never are. Getting the courage to show my art is a scary thing to overcome, but to have support helps curb that scary feeling. Often times that lack of support is present within myself. I get caught up in not believing in myself and comparing myself to others in my field that I forget to show up for myself. I am working on doing better with these struggles, I am determined to be Great.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Lion’s Vision Photography?
Lion’s Vision Photography is my footprint in the sands of time. This is a business I created as a way to not only give life to the ideas in my head but to leave a lasting impression of me to the world. Photography is a passion of mine and my creative images are an extension of that passion. I enjoy making people feel good about themselves through photographs even in a way that surprises themself. I feel as though that is my superpower and what I specialize in as a photographer. From past client’s reviews, a common compliment is the ease, fun, and free environment I create for them to help capture “the shot.”
