Today we’d like to introduce you to Serena Satcher, MD. Them and their team share their story with us below:
Dr. Serena M. Satcher, MD earned a degree in medicine from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee, completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Harvard’s NE Deaconess/Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital and a second residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Loyola University Medical Center. She is board certified in PMR and by ABoIM (American Board of Integrative Medicine), AHIM (Association of Holistic Integrative Medicine), and IFM-CP (Institute of Functional Medicine-Certified practitioner). Dr. Satcher previously served on the faculty of Northwestern University and University of Illinois both in Chicago, Illinois. She has extensive experience in Integrative and Functional Medicine-Trauma informed approaches to COVID Long Hauler, digestive and food sensitivities issues, autoimmune diseases, and weight management. Dr. Satcher is adept at empowering her private practice members to adopt a wellness mindset and fostering behavioral and lifestyle changes to help improve clinical outcomes.
Dr. Satcher traveled to Uganda as a child with her family and saw firsthand how traditional medicine was being used in areas where high-tech medicine was not available. In 2004, while on a medical mission to Burkino Faso, this was reinforced when she helped people and their families who came to the clinic to use their natural plants and local resources to care for people affected by chronically disabling illness. This was accomplished by research and by consulting local traditional medicine people and local clinicians on the ground.
Having had health challenges herself that were resolved using nutrition, energy medicine, exercise and stress lowering techniques like Neuro-emotional technique, she has helped others resolve issues like autoimmune thyroid diseases, arthritis, COVID long hauler, digestive disorders and food sensitivities.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
My story has included some significant struggles with my health. While competing in a triathlon in 2004, I had to stop in the middle of an Olympic distance race to go relieve my bladder. Anyone who has competed in one of these extreme athletic races is that you must master nutrition, hydration, sleep and recovery. I had completed a marathon prior to this so when I had to make that pit stop, I knew something was not right. I later found out that I had a fibroid the size of a softball pressing on my bladder and affecting the nervous function of the bladder. I decided to have it removed surgically because I did not know how to get it to shrink quickly enough to save the nerves. I found out after surgery that there were more that were removed and some that remained. Every sister in my Mom’s family had had hysterectomies. I was determined to preserve my female organs and prevent recurrence. I successfully shrunk away their remaining ones and preserved my organs. Being a clinician is stressful. Stress is a huge contributor to illness. I have had challenges with my thyroid, muscles, spine, and energy that I have successfully reversed or managed. I have mainly relied on nutrition and energy interventions for my health. With my latest challenges including a bout of COVID-19, it was important for me to recognize the need for adequate rest, relaxation and rejuvenation in order to maintain resilience and wellness.
We’ve been impressed with The Regenasyst Wellness and Health Corp., but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I help burned out women to get at the root cause of their health issues by listening to their bodies, reversing illness, achieving wellbeing, harnessing their inner power and finding self-confidence by being their medical detective and providing doable step by step solutions.
I specialize in Functional and Integrative Medicine. My conventional Medical field is Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
I am known for either helping people reverse their medical issues or to create a plan and connect them with providers who can assist them.
What sets me apart is how I am able to help the member to interpret signs their body is giving them and to use energy medicine to assist with nutrition, stress reduction, sleep optimization and personalized exercise plans to recover.
I am most proud of the residents that I taught in Chicago and how they are expanding this type of medicine across the country. I am also proud of the people that I have helped to attain their health goals in within three months to a year.
This is how I usually introduce myself:
Something’s not right. You know you, you know your body and you know this feeling,
Whatever it is, it just isn’t right.
You might’ve even gone to your doctor and were told you everything is fine. But you know something isn’t right.
Do you know anyone who wants to feel better naturally without medications?
I’m Dr. Serena Satcher, and I help people figure out why they feel dragged and have no energy, I am an HBCU graduate, Harvard educated, triple boarded Medical Doctor who is also a medical detective. I’m passionate about Holistic Medicine and helping people get a “PhD in you”, get off of medications and reclaim their lives through virtual groups and remote monitoring.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I believe that energy plays a big role in our lives and business. When our energy is good we attract the help we need and the people who need our help will be attracted to come to us. I think people use the word luck to explain phenomenon they don’t see or understand. I use Energy Medicine in my practice called Neuro-Emotional technique.
