Hi Shynna, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Shynna McCown a.k.a. The Financial Fanatic is passionate about educating others on business & financial empowerment.
I learned about the importance of wealth and ownership growing up in New Haven, CT where I was born. I watched my father grow and manage the nightclub and multi-family residential units with the help of my mother, which they had owned. I witnessed the accountant visit every Saturday morning to go over the bookkeeping. In addition, my siblings and I would help our parents with deliveries and maintain the rental properties. Entrepreneurship is my blood.
Later my family moved upstate to Buffalo, NY when I was 11, where then my father opened another nightclub in Rochester, NY. From there, I learned that you can always pick up the pieces and start over again if you’re a natural-born go-getter!
At age 25 I moved with my 3 daughters to Atlanta and began to focus on Financial and Business Empowerment. As a six-figure earner and serial Entrepreneur, the Author of Wealth is a Mindset, Speaker, Realtor/Investor, and Financial & Business Empowerment Coach, I have tailored a powerful movement dedicated to empowering others around the world to recondition their mindsets to realize that Wealth is a Mindset and to Empower You to Build Your Empire!
I am no stranger to hardship. Being a survivor of domestic violence who faced challenges building and running businesses and managing multiple streams of income while raising my 5 children while in my 20s & 30s, I persevered through financial challenges due to failed marriages, yet am determined to share my voice, vision, and victories with business & financial empowerment! I am a charitable mentor, visionary leader, and business & financial fanatic. I am a proud member of the Metro South Association Board of Realtors, Wealth Partners, and Wealth is a Mindset Community.
My experience and knowledge gained over the years have afforded me many opportunities such as speaking at a maximum-security prison, being invited as a special guest on numerous radio and TV shows, podcasts, speaking engagements, hosting workshops & seminars, and working with charitable organizations in different communities worldwide.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?

Atlanta is a vibrant city and has a variety of attractions and an abundance of things to do to suit everyone’s taste! There are no excuses as I look at Atlanta as the land of opportunity and very diverse in culture. Atlanta has a strong black American presence and we are the face of many prestigious achievements, which all attracted me to Atlanta!
Dislikes:
Atlanta is notorious for its traffic jams, especially during rush hours.
while winters, although mild, can occasionally bring unexpected snow and ice, disrupting daily life and they shut down the whole city if they even mention snow or see a flurry, lol. Oh, and most people can’t drive in the rain or snow coming from an up north native where I’m used to these weather conditions, lol. If it’s even raining you need to leave about 30-45 mins earlier, lol!
