Exploring Life & Business with Sigitas (Sigi) Seputis of Chill Latte

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sigitas (Sigi) Seputis.

Hi Sigi, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I came to the U.S. from Lithuania in 2000, right after graduating from the University of Technology. I arrived with just $200 in my pocket, minimal English skills, and a big dream. My first years here were spent working hard — as a housekeeper, cook, server, and bartender — often juggling multiple jobs at once just to pay the bills.
At the same time, I began exploring the wellness industry, learning sales and marketing directly from industry leaders. Through sheer determination and countless hours of effort, I built a wellness business that went on to generate a couple of million dollars in total sales.
Later, I worked with PepsiCo in route sales and then with Snyder’s-Lance as a route owner and operator. In 2013, my business partner Yuriy and I launched a t-shirt company, offering custom apparel at youth sporting events nationwide.
By 2016, we noticed a gap — at the very sports complexes where we sold shirts, there was no great coffee option for families and athletes. At the time, coffee trucks were rare in Atlanta. Sensing an opportunity, we built our first coffee truck in 2017.
Initially, the truck sat unused because our apparel business was growing quickly and we didn’t yet have a base of operations. Eventually, I made the decision to leave the t-shirt company and focus entirely on Chill Latte, creating a mobile coffee business built on exceptional hospitality and quality beverages.
My love for entrepreneurship goes back to my childhood. I grew up in rural Lithuania before the country gained independence and embraced capitalism. As a farmer’s kid, I sold strawberries and helped care for our animals. Even then, I would tell my parents that if we could cultivate more fields and bring in extra help, we could grow the farm and create jobs for others. My parents never hired anyone, but that vision stayed with me.
The U.S. gave me the opportunity to make it real. I believe this country is still the best environment for anyone with ambition, desire, and determination to achieve their goals and turn dreams into reality.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has never been easy. I believe business is like war, but the biggest battle is always internal — with myself. My business growth has always been directly tied to my personal growth. That’s why I’ve always invested in learning, whether by reading books, attending business seminars, or even joining Zoom calls with industry leaders like Will Guidara, author of Unreasonable Hospitality. Surrounding myself with great thinkers and mentors has helped me grow as both a person and a leader.
Along the way, I’ve made many mistakes, and each one taught me valuable lessons. One of the earliest mistakes with Chill Latte was starting with a 1999 truck. At the time, it seemed like a smart decision because it was inexpensive, but in reality, it was a costly mistake. The truck constantly broke down, and repairs quickly added up to more than what a new truck would have cost.
The worst part was when a breakdown meant we had to call clients and cancel events. That was unacceptable to me — we pride ourselves on being reliable and creating memorable experiences. After that, we committed to investing in new, reliable equipment, and today we have two brand-new trailers and another new truck. We still keep our original truck, which we’ve rebuilt with a new engine. It’s now affectionately called “Grandpa.”
Another challenge has been learning all the complexities of running a growing business — from compliance with health and safety regulations to navigating various institutions and laws. I’ve learned you have to stay on top of everything, even as you grow.
One of the hardest lessons was realizing the importance of contracts and protection. In the early days, I trusted people too easily. At one point, a former employee tried to steal our clients and start a competing business. That experience taught me the importance of having strong agreements and safeguarding the business we’ve worked so hard to build.
Through every obstacle, I’ve grown not just as a business owner, but as a person. Each challenge has made Chill Latte stronger and prepared us for the next stage of growth.

We’ve been impressed with Chill Latte , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Chill Latte is a mobile coffee and smoothie company built on three core pillars: Hospitality & Energy, Speed, and Delicious Beverage Choices. Our mission is to bring exceptional, handcrafted drinks and unforgettable experiences directly to our guests — whether at a corporate office, sports complex, school, or film production set.
We specialize in high-volume, high-energy events, serving hundreds — even thousands — of guests quickly, while keeping the experience fun, personal, and memorable. What makes us unique comes down to three key areas:
Our Products: Every drink is handcrafted with care, using freshly roasted specialty coffee beans and 100% real fruit smoothies. We also offer chai lattes, hot chocolate, and other specialty beverages — giving everyone, including non-coffee drinkers, something they’ll love.
Speed: Event flow is everything. Our team is trained to move fast, delivering large volumes of drinks efficiently without ever compromising quality.
Hospitality & Energy: We bring positivity, excitement, and exceptional hospitality to every event. More than coffee service, we create moments of connection, making guests feel truly seen and appreciated.
Clients often tell us, “You were the hit of the event!” That feedback fuels us to keep raising the bar, delivering reliable, professional, and unforgettable experiences every time.
From our very first truck — affectionately nicknamed “Grandpa” — to a growing fleet of new trucks and trailers, Chill Latte has come a long way. Looking ahead, our goal is to expand nationwide, not only growing our own operations but also helping other passionate entrepreneurs build and run their own coffee truck businesses, using the systems and experience we’ve developed.
Chill Latte is more than just coffee — we bring energy and fun, one cup at a time, while inspiring others to pursue their own dreams of entrepreneurship.

What makes you happy?
What truly makes me happy is seeing growth and possibility come to life — whether it’s in myself, my team, or the people around me. It’s incredibly rewarding when I or someone I work with achieves something they once thought was impossible. I love working alongside people who are eager to grow, push boundaries, and discover what they’re capable of.
Since I’ve been in the service industry since I was 18, I’ve always valued those moments of connection with others. Nothing compares to seeing the smile on someone’s face when they take a sip of a delicious beverage we’ve crafted. It’s a simple gesture, but it represents joy, care, and a shared experience.

Pricing:

  • For our beverage catering service, pricing for a group of around 100 people typically starts at $750, plus a travel fee.
  • For larger events, where we serve 1,000 or more guests in a single day, pricing usually comes down to around $5–$6 per person, depending on the menu and event details.
