Healing Hands Diagnostic Lab began from a deeply personal place, built on the foundation of my home healthcare agency, Healing Hands Private Care. Through years of running that agency, I witnessed firsthand how many clients struggled to access timely, affordable diagnostic services. That gap between care and diagnostics inspired a vision to create a solution that was accessible, mobile, and community-focused.
We started with mobile phlebotomy, meeting clients where they were—at home, in assisted living facilities, or at work. From there, Healing Hands Diagnostic Lab evolved into a full-service diagnostic center based in Tucker, GA. Today, we provide everything from routine blood work to specialized panels, including allergy testing, wellness screenings, DNA testing, and DOT/Non-DOT drug testing.
We’ve expanded to include advanced services like Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT), EKGs, and echocardiograms (ECHO), allowing us to offer more comprehensive care both in-lab and on the go. Whether patients walk in or schedule a mobile visit, our mission remains the same: to deliver quality diagnostic care that’s convenient, compassionate, and reliable.
Our growth has led to partnerships with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Georgia DFCS, and Third-Party Administrator (TPA) relationships with national laboratories like CRL. These partnerships have enhanced our credibility and broadened our reach.
Now, we’re actively expanding into new markets in Florida and Wisconsin, bringing our services to more communities in need of convenient, high-quality testing.
Building a diagnostic lab from a home care foundation has come with challenges—regulatory hurdles, staffing, and maintaining clinical standards—but it’s been a deeply rewarding journey. Healing Hands Diagnostic Lab isn’t just a business—it’s a reflection of my mission to meet people where they are and deliver the kind of care I’d want for my own family.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road—starting and growing a healthcare business comes with real challenges. One of the biggest early hurdles was navigating the complex regulatory landscape in both the diagnostic and home care industries. From licensing to compliance, ensuring everything was done by the book required time, research, and a great deal of persistence.
Securing partnerships was another major challenge. As a smaller, independently owned lab, we had to work harder to prove our credibility and reliability. Many organizations initially preferred larger, well-known labs. I remember reaching out to dozens of agencies and facilities—often getting no response or being told they were already contracted. It was discouraging, but I remained consistent—following up, showing up, and sharing what made Healing Hands different. Landing our first major contract with DFCS was the breakthrough that opened more doors, including with the VA and national TPA networks.
Competing with national labs has never been easy, but what sets us apart is the breadth of our services and our personalized approach. Unlike most large labs that focus solely on routine diagnostics, we offer comprehensive care in one visit—including Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT), EKGs, ECHOs, Point-of-Care Testing, DNA testing, and mobile phlebotomy. This allows us to better serve seniors, patients with limited mobility, and busy professionals.
Our in-home and mobile services are a true differentiator—something many larger labs simply don’t offer. That level of flexibility makes a real difference for our clients, and it’s one of the main reasons they choose to stay with us.
Staffing and operations have presented their own set of challenges—especially building a team that aligns with our mission. Ensuring consistency and quality across mobile services has required strong training protocols, reliable scheduling systems, and disciplined operations.
Expanding into Florida and Wisconsin has also required careful planning to maintain compliance while scaling sustainably and continuing to deliver high standards of care.
Despite the obstacles, I’ve learned that meaningful growth takes time. When DFCS called to renew our contract after the first year, I knew we were on the right path. Healing Hands Diagnostic Lab isn’t just a lab—it’s a healthcare solution rooted in service. We may not be the biggest, but we strive every day to be the most trusted and accessible.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I absolutely believe that risk is essential for growth—especially in business. I’m not a reckless risk-taker, but I believe in taking calculated risks when there’s a clear vision and a mission worth pursuing.
Starting Healing Hands Diagnostic Lab® was one of the biggest risks I’ve taken. I was already running a home healthcare agency, and launching a diagnostic lab meant entering a new industry that required major investment, regulatory compliance, staffing, and marketing—all without the backing of a large or established brand. There was no blueprint. What I had was real-world experience watching patients struggle to access diagnostics—and a strong belief that I could bridge that gap.
Expanding into new states like Florida and Wisconsin was another major risk. It meant learning new regulations, building partnerships from the ground up, and managing operations across wider geographies—all while continuing to grow our presence in Georgia. It could’ve stretched us too thin, but we took a strategic, phased approach. In hindsight, it was one of the smartest decisions for our long-term growth.
To me, the key to risk-taking is alignment. If the risk supports your mission, reflects your values, and drives your long-term vision, then it’s not just worth it—it’s necessary. Every bold move I’ve made has come with uncertainty, but it’s also been grounded in preparation, purpose, and a lot of faith. That’s what continues to move me—and my business—forward.
