Hi Summer, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Summer Breeze Flowers began in 2016 in Johns Creek, Georgia, founded by my amazing mom, who’s been a florist for over 30 years. Flowers have always been part of our family’s world, but I never expected I’d be stepping into it myself.
In 2020, like so many others during the pandemic, I found myself rethinking everything. I left my corporate job and started helping out at the shop. At first, I thought it would be temporary—but the more time I spent working with flowers and connecting with customers, the more I realized this was exactly where I was meant to be. I realized flowers are more than just fresh-cut stems—they’re a way for people to express love, gratitude, appreciation, respect, and care for the ones who matter most.
What truly inspires me is seeing the joy and emotion on someone’s face when they receive flowers. Those reactions—whether it’s a smile, happy tears, or a look of surprise—are incredibly touching. Moments like that are what made me fall in love with this work and turn it into a career. a year of hands-on learning, I officially took over the business.
In 2021, we opened our second location in West Midtown Atlanta, and now we’re getting ready to open our third location this summer in the Doraville–Chamblee area. It’s an exciting step that will allow us to serve even more customers across Atlanta and the surrounding communities.
Summer Breeze Flowers is a modern neighborhood flower shop, built on the belief that flowers should be part of everyday life—not just the big occasions. We offer fast, efficient, and beautifully designed arrangements for birthdays, anniversaries, celebrations, and even “just because” moments. We also specialize in weddings, parties, and corporate events. No matter the occasion, our goal is to brighten your day with flowers that feel personal, fresh, and thoughtfully designed.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
One of the biggest challenges in running this business came just a month after we opened our West Midtown Atlanta location—I found out I was pregnant. It was such an exciting time, but also incredibly overwhelming. Balancing a new store, a growing business, and preparing to become a mom was not easy. Time management became a real struggle, but somehow, we made it through.
Now, I’m the proud mom of a three-year-old and the business is thriving. I’m so grateful for my incredible team and business partners—none of this would be possible without their support and dedication. We’ve built something special together, and I’m excited for what’s ahead.”

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
To me, risk means opportunity. You can’t grow by staying in your comfort zone. Every big step I’ve taken—leaving my corporate job, taking over the flower shop, opening new locations—came with risk. But without it, there’s no real progress. I believe that stepping into the unknown is where the magic happens.
