Hi Tameka, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started studying candle making while battling an autoimmune disease, candle making forced me to channel my thoughts in other directions. I’ve gotten to where I am today by not giving up and not comparing my journey to anyone else’s.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, this hasn’t been a smooth road. One of my struggles has been trying to find and understand who my target audience is. And getting my product out there.
As you know, we’re big fans of Flare Candle Company. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I currently make candles, waxmelts, and roomsprays. I don’t really know what sets me apart from others all I know is my consistently working on myself and my craft. And that it shows in the products that I produce. Is just me against me… Currently, what I’m most proud of is booking my first fundraiser. I want readers to know that I’m a small brand with big dreams, and what I offer as stated above are candles, wax melts and room sprays and I hope to begin supplying wedding and baby shower favors. and also hosting candle-making parties…
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My husband, children and close friends continue to support me, as well my customers new and returning. My work family at East Point Police Department not only are they loyal customers but they recommend my services to others.
