Hi Thomas, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I got into plumbing because I’ve always liked working with my hands and solving problems that actually matter to people. Early on, I learned the trade by working in the field and seeing firsthand how important quality, honesty, and follow-through are in this line of work. Over time, I realized I wanted to build something of my own, a company that customers could truly trust.

That’s how T&M Plumbing and Mechanical came to be. From the beginning, the goal was simple: do the job right, communicate clearly, and treat customers the way I’d want my own family treated. As the business grew, we focused on building a skilled, dependable team and taking on a wider range of residential and commercial work, while still keeping that personal, hands-on approach.

Today, we’re proud to serve the Marietta area and surrounding communities, and I’m especially proud that so much of our work comes from repeat customers and referrals. That tells me we’re doing something right, and it keeps us motivated to keep raising the bar.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Like most small businesses, it definitely hasn’t been a perfectly smooth road. Early on, one of the biggest challenges was wearing every hat: being out in the field all day while also handling scheduling, customer calls, and the business side at night. Learning how to grow without sacrificing quality was a big learning curve.

Finding and keeping good people has also been a challenge. Plumbing is skilled work, and we’ve always been selective because our reputation matters. There were times when growth was slower than we wanted because we refused to cut corners or rush hiring.

But those challenges helped shape who we are. They pushed us to build better systems, communicate more clearly with customers, and stay focused on long-term relationships instead of quick wins. Looking back, the hard parts were necessary. They’re a big reason T&M is as strong and reliable as it is today.
