Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany West.
Tiffany, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Board + Vine started as a hobby after leaving a toxic workplace in late 2019. I decided to embrace the opportunity to stay home with my children and explore what my next move was going to be. Six months later, the world shut down to a global pandemic just one month after launching the business. After putting the business on hold to manage distance learning, caring for a home that we were constantly in and finding new ways to entertain ourselves, I dreamt of starting again. Relaunching in August of 2020, consumers in my area were eager to support small businesses and I knew it was the time to go all in. What I thought would be a fun side business was soon turning out to be the majority of our income. I grew my business by offering weekly grazing boxes with a theme to get my name out and then started doing grazing tables later that year. I am now a part of so many special occasions and have worked with numerous brides, venues, and the networking opportunities are bountiful.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
As I mentioned before, the initial launch of the business was soon shut down due to a global pandemic. Due to my business being what seems to be an overnight success after the second launch, many people would think it’s been smooth sailing but one thing I vastly underestimated was the amount of research it takes to run a business by yourself. There was no one else in my area with the same business and goals in mind so I had no mentor. Often times it felt like I was thrown to the wolves as I stayed up all hours of the night researching, budgeting, ordering things that ultimately did not work. All in all, having this business meant constantly thinking on my feet and working overtime to make sure my priorities supported my mission.

Board + Vine is a charcuterie-based company that currently specializes in grazing tables which is a LARGE charcuterie board! Although some menus are more popular and used again and again, each table is a creation of its own. I work alongside the client to curate a menu and style that is cohesive with the theme, aesthetic, and likes/dislikes. While we do offer other products tables will always be my sweet spot. It’s where the creativity truly flows and I’m in my element.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
Pinterest has been my best friend during this business whether I’m looking for inspiration or even needing help with portions! I’ve also been lucky enough to meet other business owners across the country in the same business that are always willing to help bounce ideas off of! That’s been truly helpful and encouraging!
