Revel Treats by Tora G. was born from a shared passion between my mother and me and a love for baking that has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up in the kitchen alongside my mother and grandmother, learning to bake from scratch and experiencing how desserts bring people together during life’s most meaningful moments. Owning a bakery was always my mother’s dream, and she hoped to one day build that dream with me because we shared the same love for creating through baking. That passion stayed with me, eventually leading me to teach myself how to perfect my favorite dessert, cheesecake! In June 2020, creating my wedding cake alongside my mother became a defining and deeply emotional moment that gave me the confidence to finally pursue baking professionally. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I turned our shared dream into reality, officially launching Revel Treats by Tora G. in September 2020, and today every custom cake and handcrafted dessert I create carries her influence, our shared passion, and the love that started it all.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Like most entrepreneurial journeys, the road has not been smooth—and I’ve learned that growth often comes through challenge. Starting and building Revel Treats by Tora G. required a lot of trial and error, from navigating business policies and food regulations to learning how to scale as demand increased. As a sole proprietor, I quickly realized that I wasn’t just a baker—I was also responsible for marketing, finances, branding, client communication, and day-to-day operations, all while still producing high-quality custom desserts. One of the biggest eye-openers was understanding the true cost of running a business, from equipment and ingredients to time, labor, and overhead. While those challenges were overwhelming at times, each one forced me to grow, become more disciplined, and trust myself as both a creative and a business owner. Every obstacle strengthened the foundation of the brand and reaffirmed my commitment to building something intentional, sustainable, and meaningful.

Revel Treats by Tora G. is a custom dessert brand rooted in tradition, creativity, and the belief that every celebration deserves something unforgettable. Founded in September 2020, the brand was born from my lifelong love of baking and a deep appreciation for meaningful moments shared around the table.
My journey began in the kitchen alongside my mother and grandmother, where everything was made from scratch and desserts were an essential part of birthdays, holidays, and life’s milestones. After relocating from Philadelphia, PA to Stone Mountain, GA, that tradition continued—baking was never just about sweets, it was about connection. As I grew older, I challenged myself to perfect one of my favorite desserts: cheesecake. What started as a personal passion quickly gained attention from friends and coworkers, whose encouragement planted the first seeds of what would become Revel Treats.
A defining moment came in June 2020, when I created my own wedding cake with my mother. The response was overwhelming and affirming—it reignited my passion and gave me the confidence to pursue baking professionally. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I took a leap of faith, transforming years of passion and informal baking into a brand built on quality, intentional design, and elevated experiences.

There have been moments of trial and error, long hours, and steep learning curves, but my willingness to stay committed, problem-solve, and keep showing up for my vision has made all the difference. That resilience, paired with passion and intention, allows me to grow through challenges while staying true to the heart of my brand and the legacy I’m honoring.
