Today we’d like to introduce you to Tova Davis.
Hi Tova, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
As a lifelong educator, I started out as a high school English teacher. My journey quickly took me into leadership where I became an Assistant Principal. I served in that capacity for many years. I served as summer school principal for the district that I worked in and honed in on my desire to become a high school principal. My path took a turn into the world of Human Resources as I was selected as a Staffing Administrator for the district. From there, I began recruiting and staffing the district. My work supporting school leaders grew and became an identified need. I worked with many school leaders to solve problems and build processes while staffing their schools. During this time in 2010, I birthed Northstar Educational Consulting Group, where I began developing the business brand, mission and goals.
My role in HR expanded as I began to supervise benefits administration. I was promoted to HR Director, overseeing all employment services functions. I served as HR Director for several years. In 2016, I committed to Northstar fulltime. Northstar Educational Consulting Group now serves schools, teachers, and school leaders providing services ranging from professional development to HR coaching and support.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My journey has been divine and ordered. While the process has been an ever evolving one, it has been very rewarding. The biggest challenge is always convincing school leaders how much they need Northstar!
