Today we’d like to introduce you to Tunisia Pryor.
Hi Tunisia, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My journey began in pain, but it has grown into a powerful testimony of purpose and perseverance. I experienced rape at a young age, faced periods of homelessness, and was raised by a single parent who did her best with what she had. Those early experiences shaped me — they taught me resilience, compassion, and the importance of creating safe spaces where others can heal, grow, and be seen.
Education became my foundation and my calling. As I grew older, I realized that my true purpose was to pour back into the lives of children. Becoming an educator gave me the opportunity to love, teach, and inspire the next generation — to be the kind of support I once needed myself. In my classroom, I saw that many young girls were battling insecurities, trauma, and self-doubt. I recognized myself in them, and that inspired me to create The Princess Program, a girls mentoring program designed to uplift, empower, and equip girls to believe in themselves and their potential.
As a mother of beautiful girls and an amazing autistic son, my purpose runs even deeper. My children remind me daily why it’s so important to build spaces where every child — regardless of their background, ability, or circumstance — feels valued, understood, and capable of greatness. My son’s journey has taught me patience, advocacy, and the beauty of seeing the world through a different lens. My daughters inspire me to lead by example — to show them what strength, faith, and perseverance look like in action.
Through The Princess Program, we’ve created a sisterhood where girls are reminded that they are powerful, purposeful, and protected. Our Girls Life Pods are small, nurturing circles that help girls develop leadership skills, emotional intelligence, confidence, and self-worth. Each pod focuses on key areas of growth such as goal setting, communication, mental health, self-love, and personal development — all while fostering sisterhood and accountability.
We also train and support mentors, because we believe every girl deserves a caring adult who will guide her, listen to her, and cheer for her success. Through workshops, service projects, and community events, we are teaching girls to dream boldly, lead confidently, and walk proudly in who they are.
Today, I stand not as a victim, but as a survivor, educator, founder, and mother — a woman using her voice to inspire others to rise. My journey reminds me that God can turn pain into purpose, and that our stories, no matter how hard, can be the very thing that helps someone else heal. I’m committed to using my life, my lessons, and my love for children to build a legacy that empowers the next generation of young women to shine brightly and walk boldly in their truth.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but every obstacle has shaped me into the woman I am today. My journey has been filled with challenges — from experiencing trauma at a young age to facing homelessness and growing up in a single-parent household. Those moments taught me strength, faith, and perseverance, but they also showed me the importance of healing and finding purpose in pain.
As an adult, balancing motherhood, my career as an educator, and building my mentoring program has come with its own struggles. There were times when I questioned if I was doing enough or if my voice truly mattered. Raising my autistic son while also nurturing my daughters and mentoring other girls taught me patience, flexibility, and the power of unconditional love. It hasn’t always been easy, but it has been worth it.
There were seasons when resources were limited, support was uncertain, and the vision for my program felt bigger than what I had. But I learned that faith, consistency, and community can turn challenges into chapters of growth. Every setback strengthened my determination to keep going — not just for me, but for the girls and families who look to our program for guidance and hope.
Through it all, I’ve realized that the road doesn’t have to be smooth for it to lead to purpose. The bumps, detours, and delays are often what prepare us for the blessings ahead. My story is proof that no matter what you’ve been through, you can still rise, rebuild, and become everything God created you to be.
As you know, we’re big fans of Princess N Training – The Princess Program . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
The Princess Program is a girls mentoring program designed to empower, educate, and equip girls to embrace their worth, walk in confidence, and lead with purpose. Our mission is to help every girl recognize that she is valuable, powerful, and capable of creating positive change in her life and community.
We serve girls from elementary through high school, providing them with a safe, nurturing space where they can grow emotionally, academically, and spiritually. Our program focuses on developing leadership, self-esteem, communication, resilience, and life skills through mentorship, workshops, and community engagement.
⸻
Our Core Values
• Faith: We believe that spiritual grounding builds inner strength and character.
• Leadership: We empower girls to use their voices, set goals, and take initiative.
• Sisterhood: We create a community of support, love, and accountability.
• Education: We promote academic success and a lifelong love of learning.
• Service: We teach the importance of giving back and making a difference.
⸻
Program Structure: Girls Life Pods
One of the most unique and powerful components of The Princess Program is our Girls Life Pods — small, supportive circles that give every girl a sense of belonging and individualized attention. Each Life Pod is led by trained mentors and focuses on key areas of growth, such as:
• Confidence & Self-Esteem: Helping girls discover their identity, build self-worth, and embrace their inner beauty.
• Leadership & Goal Setting: Guiding girls to set goals, make decisions, and take on leadership roles in their schools and communities.
• Social & Emotional Wellness: Teaching healthy coping skills, emotional awareness, and positive peer relationships.
• Etiquette & Professional Development: Building social skills, manners, and career readiness through fun and engaging activities.
• Faith & Purpose: Encouraging girls to connect their faith with their everyday lives and walk boldly in their purpose.
The Life Pod model allows mentors to build deeper relationships with the girls, providing consistent guidance, accountability, and encouragement throughout the year.
⸻
Mentorship & Training
We believe that strong mentors build strong girls. That’s why we invest in our mentors through training, workshops, and support systems that prepare them to guide with empathy, integrity, and purpose. Our mentors are carefully selected and equipped to help girls navigate challenges, celebrate victories, and develop a vision for their future.
⸻
Workshops & Events
Throughout the year, The Princess Program hosts engaging workshops, empowerment sessions, community service projects, and celebrations. Topics include:
• Self-Confidence & Body Positivity
• Leadership & Teamwork
• Communication & Conflict Resolution
• Digital Etiquette & Cyber Safety
• Career Exploration & Vision Planning
• Faith, Purpose, and Identity
We also host PRINCESS N Training sessions — interactive empowerment meetings where girls learn, connect, and grow together through themed discussions, hands-on activities, and guest speakers who inspire them to dream big.
⸻
Our Impact
The Princess Program is more than a mentoring organization — it’s a movement. We are building a generation of confident, purpose-driven young women who know their worth and understand the power of their voice. Through mentorship, education, and community, we are shaping leaders, strengthening families, and creating lasting change.
Every girl who joins our program learns that she is not alone — she is part of a sisterhood that believes in her, supports her, and reminds her daily that she is a Princess: Powerful, Resilient, Intelligent, Nurturing, Confident, Empowered, and Strong.
The holiday season is one of the most meaningful times of the year for The Princess Program, because it allows us to put our values of love, service, and gratitude into action. Our girls, mentors, and families come together to serve our community and share kindness with those who give so much all year long.
During Thanksgiving, we make it a priority to serve and show appreciation to our community helpers — such as police officers, firefighters, nurses, shelter workers, and others who dedicate their holidays to caring for others. Our girls prepare and deliver thank-you meals, care packages, and handwritten appreciation cards to express gratitude for their service. This experience helps our girls understand what it means to lead with heart and serve with humility.
As we move into Christmas, our mission continues through our Annual Holiday Drive, where we partner with organizations like the Covenant House in Atlanta to bless children and families in need. Through our “Wish List Giving” initiative, community members can sponsor a child’s wish list, allowing our girls to see firsthand the joy of giving and the impact of generosity.
On Christmas Day, we also continue to serve community helpers who spend the day working to keep others safe and cared for. Our mentors and girls assemble “Holiday Blessing Bags” filled with snacks, gift cards, and encouraging notes, which we deliver to first responders, hospital staff, and other essential workers. These acts of service remind everyone involved that leadership begins with compassion, and giving is one of the greatest forms of love.
To close the season, we host our Holiday Empowerment Celebration — a joyful gathering where our girls, mentors, and families reflect on the year’s blessings, celebrate growth, and share gratitude. It’s a time of laughter, inspiration, and community — a reminder that The Princess Program is more than a mentoring organization; it’s a family rooted in faith, purpose, and service.
The holidays give us the chance to live out our mission in action — serving others, uplifting those who serve, and spreading love wherever we can. For us, it’s not just about the holidays themselves, but about teaching our girls that kindness, gratitude, and generosity should shine all year long.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I’ve learned over time that I don’t really believe in luck — I believe in purpose, faith, and divine timing. What some might call bad luck, I now see as preparation. The challenges I’ve faced — from childhood trauma and homelessness to the struggles of being a single parent and raising a child with autism — weren’t random misfortunes. They were part of the process that built my strength, compassion, and perseverance.
If anything, I’ve had what I’d call “purposeful luck.” God has had His hand on my life even in the hardest seasons. Every setback led me to a breakthrough, every “no” made room for a better “yes,” and every closed door redirected me toward something greater. The pain I once thought was bad luck turned into the passion behind my life’s work.
When it comes to my business, The Princess Program, I don’t see it as something that grew out of luck — it grew out of faith, consistency, and obedience. There were moments when I felt unqualified, under-resourced, or unseen, but somehow, the right people, opportunities, and support always showed up right on time.
So, while luck might come and go, purpose remains. I’ve learned that when you walk in faith and align your work with something bigger than yourself, even the storms can lead you exactly where you’re meant to be.
