Today we’d like to introduce you to Wendy Jenkins.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I am from a small town, Swainsboro, GA. After high school graduation, I decided to attend Fort Valley State University in which I received a bachelor’s degree in Biology. I was not exactly sure what I wanted to do with the degree but I knew that I was and had always been interested in the human body and all the mechanisms within it. After the death of my mother to heart disease, I decided to go back to school and pursue nursing. I am now a Registered Nurse and worked as a Cardiac Nurse for two years before deciding to start my own business, HydroDrip Medical Spa. I chose to start this business so I can intervene and make a direct impact on the health of those within my community. I grew tired of seeing the same story repeated by many people that look like me. The knowledge deficient of disease processes and lack of skills of self-care, prevention and health maintenance. Hydrodrip is a luxury medical spa that places emphasis on whole body wellness and I genuinely want what is best for all of our clients.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I cannot say that it has been easy but I definitely feel that journey was worth it. One huge hurdle was the financial strain in starting a new business. It is expensive buying machinery, decor and getting certified in various techniques and developing new skillsets so I had to make strategic moves and pace myself. I am so happy that God provided exactly what I needed in his perfect time. He placed mentors and like-minded people in my life to help guide me along the way.
We’ve been impressed with HydroDrip LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Hydrodrip is a Luxury Medical Spa. We specialize in assisted weight loss and health maintenance programs. We offer several weight loss treatments that enhance and accelerate the rate in which results are reached for weight loss goals. We help create a personalized plan to aid our clients in their wellness journey. We offer non-invasive alternatives for body contouring and fat-reducing treatments. Additionally, we offer various detox treatments that aid in whole body wellness such as yoni steams, ionic foot detox and the sauna blanket. We also offer numerous spa services (i.e., facials, lash extensions, skin treatments)
Our clients enjoy a private, clean and peaceful environment that is filled with positive vibes, love and compassion. Each experience is personalized with their health and safety in the forefront. Because our company is Nurse owned and operated, we know how to care for our client’s needs and make recommendations for them to seek medical attention when warranted.
I am most proud that we are able to deliver outstanding customer service in healthcare in an environment that is not typical for health services. Our clients are people from all backgrounds and are treated with respect and uplifted dignity.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Number one is to always remain humble and remember that I am nothing without God as my leader. Secondly, treating each encounter as an opportunity to make a lasting impression in someone’s life and just being a kind person in general. I feel in today’s world, we are so preoccupied with our schedules and trying to balance our personal lives that we sometimes forget to take care of ourselves and the fact that I am able to help people find that balance makes me happy. I feel my success is dependent on me staying true to my values and continuing to do what I feel is best.
