Today we’d like to introduce you to Yaa Astar.
Hi Yaa, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My journey into life coaching started the way many real transformations do, through pressure.
For years, I was the high-achieving woman who looked like she had everything under control. I was ambitious, career-driven, and constantly pushing myself to reach the next level. I knew how to perform, produce, and succeed.
But at 38, I experienced my first anxiety attack, and it forced me to confront something I could no longer ignore:
Success without alignment isn’t sustainable.
That moment became a turning point. I realized I wasn’t just building a career, I was carrying stress, expectations, and the weight of always being the strong.
Instead of letting that moment break me, I let it refine me.
I began doing the real deep work: learning how to set boundaries, strengthen my mindset, delegate tasks, honor my health, curate my own work and life balance and trust God’s timing while still pursuing big goals. I stopped chasing achievement at the expense of peace, and I started building a life that was both powerful and well.
That transformation became the foundation of my coaching.
Today, I work I with high-achieving women who are high-income earners, who are outwardly successful but internally overwhelmed and burnt out. Women who are juggling careers, families, and responsibilities while quietly feeling depleted. My work helps women get 5 to 10 hours of their time back without lowering their standards or compromising their lifestyle or career. I advise them how to create sustainable confidence, wellness, emotional resilience, and the ability to lead their lives with clarity, intention and unapologetically.
I’ve built coaching programs, written a book, and expanded into speaking, all with one mission: to help ambitious women stop surviving and start living.
This isn’t just personal development, it’s identity-level elevation.
My story is still being written, but I know this:
I’m not here by accident. I’m here on assignment.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road.
One of the biggest struggles along the way has been navigating my own health and learning that success means nothing if you’re not well. At 38, I experienced my first anxiety attack, and even after that, I continued to have several panic and anxiety episodes over the next few years.
On the outside, I was still functioning, working, achieving, showing up. But internally, I was running on pressure, stress, and survival mode.
By 2020, I reached a breaking point. I had enough.
That was the moment I made a decision that changed everything: I was going to stop pushing through and finally invest in my health and wellbeing, mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
That season required humility. It required slowing down, getting support, rebuilding my mindset, and learning how to lead myself before leading others.
Entrepreneurship also brought its own challenges, balancing a full-time career while building a coaching business, staying consistent, overcoming doubt, and learning how to be visible before everything felt reasonable.
But those struggles became the foundation of my work.
Because I don’t coach from theory. I coach from lived experience. I understand what it means to look successful while feeling overwhelmed inside. And I’ve made it my mission to help high-achieving women create lives that are not only accomplished, but aligned, healthy, and sustainable.
The road hasn’t been easy, but it’s been purposeful. Every challenge has shaped the woman I am today.

We’ve been impressed with Astar Coaching Services, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I work with high-income; high-achieving women create success that’s powerful, sustainable, and aligned. Many of my clients are leaders, executives, and entrepreneurs who appear to have it all together but feel stretched, overwhelmed, and burned out behind the scenes.
Through my 6-month private coaching container, I guide women to build emotional resilience, set boundaries, elevate their mindset, and lead from a place of confidence and clarity. I also offer speaking engagements and workshops for organizations and communities, helping high-performing women thrive without sacrificing themselves.
I’m the author of The Ambitious Woman’s Guide to Stress-Free Success (available on Amazon; Audible, paperback, Kindle), a blueprint for pursuing extraordinary goals without losing peace or health.
What sets me apart is that I coach from lived experience, not theory. My mission is clear: ambitious women can lead, earn, grow, and thrive—without burning out.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I’ve been incredibly fortunate to have a network of supporters and mentors who have shaped both me and my business. I worked closely with family members and friends who encouraged me to step into my purpose and hold myself to higher standards. I’ve also mentored young women along the way, and in doing so, learned just as much from their courage, curiosity, and resilience as they did from me.
Co-workers and professional peers have been instrumental too—offering guidance and cheering me on through challenging seasons. I’ve had mentors who pushed me to think bigger, take risks, and trust both my instincts and God’s timing.
Every client, past and present, deserves the most credit. Their willingness to invest in themselves and embrace transformation has not only fueled my purpose, but it’s also shaped the programs and strategies I offer today. My success is very much a team effort—built on relationships, collaboration, and the belief that none of us
should ever have to do life alone
