Exploring Life & Business with Michaela Pierce of The Social Circle

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michaela Pierce.

Michaela Pierce

Hi Michaela, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I was in my senior year at Kennesaw State University and I had just decided to leave my job in wholesale fashion. The job required a lot of travel and over time I realized I was investing so much time into something I wasn’t passionate about anymore. After walking away from that career and prioritizing my education and personal needs, I was able to really self-reflect on what I wanted the next chapter of my life to look like. However, what I envisioned for myself was nothing like what God ended up blessing me with.

I remember working a part-time job during this transitional season and receiving a phone call from a friend who I hadn’t spoken to in some time and they were calling to ask if I had ever had any interest in running a social media account for someone’s personal brand. I had always enjoyed social media and used it as a creative outlet on my own platforms, but never for someone else. I blew the question off and told my friend that I would consider it.

After that call, it never crossed my mind again. Literally, three days later, someone who has no correlation to the first person who called me reached out and asked if I had ever considered running a social media account for a business. This time I couldn’t blow off the obvious sign that this was something I was supposed to tap into. I remember calling my parents and telling them about these two opportunities and how they coincided with one another and they agreed that my prayers were being answered in that moment.

I still get chills when I think about the moment I knew my life was going to change. The next day I was on the phone with my dad and one thing about my dad, he was going to tell a crazy story about his childhood. I always enjoy hearing them, but that day he had no idea that his funny story was going to become my whole brand. He was telling me about a fun place all of his friends used to kick it in a part of Georgia called Social Circle.

I immediately stopped him mid-story and screamed ‘That’s my business name!” and that’s all she wrote! The next day I went and licensed my business through the state so I could legally do business as ‘The Social Circle”. The Social Circle specializes in social media management, content creation, and branding for businesses and personal brands.

I then created my logo and launched it on social media and it’s almost like people were waiting for me to start this business. I had three clients immediately sign contracts on my first official day in business. The Lord has blessed me so much. I am approaching one year in business and am now servicing all over Georgia and other states including Florida, Tennessee, and Texas!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There are always growing pains when you are building a business from the ground up. You always want to ensure your foundation is solid because that determines the stability of your growth in the future. Learning how to deal with different personalities and the individual needs of your clients will always teach you patience and has been one aspect of business that has taught me so much.

Also, time management and organization are vital when your business is growing exponentially fast. Each person deserves the same you that the last person received regardless of circumstances. Owning a business will help you mature and grow in more ways than one.

As you know, we’re big fans of The Social Circle. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
