Gift Guide: Katherine Nichols of Wild Women Who Write Highlights their Top Product

Today we’re excited to be connecting with Katherine Nichols again. We’re excited to feature one of their products in our gift guide – learn more below and we encourage you to use your gift budget to support small businesses & creatives whenever possible.

Katherine, thanks for joining us again. We’re so excited to have a product focused conversation today. Can you bring our readers up to speed on the product side?
I write Southern suspense with heart and humor. My main characters struggle with issues of grief and identity. They face seemingly insurmountable obstacles. Through determination and strength of character, they conquer these obstacles. My secondary characters are often quirky and provide humor and warmth. Because of the relatable nature of my work, I offer entertainment and hope to my readers. So far, Black Rose Writing has published six of my novels: The Sometime Sister, The Substitute Sister, The Unreliables, Trust Issues, False Claims, and Canceled Policies.
I co-host the podcast Wild Women Who Write Take Flight. My fellow hosts and I share writing insights with fellow writers.

What’s been the most exciting part of the journey of taking this product from idea to real life?
Turning an idea into a story that develops into a novel is the most exciting part of my writing journey. Bringing my characters to the page where they take a life of their own is thrilling. Knowing that my readers will take this journey themselves as they read my work is incredibly rewarding.

If you had to boil your product or brand down to one core message – what would that message be?
The protagonists in my novels portray the message that you don’t have to wear a cape or carry a sword to be the heroine of your own story.

What are you most thankful for?
I’m thankful for the support of my family and writing community. Without them, it would have been easy to give up on my dream.
