We recently had the chance to connect with Hannah Patterson and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Hannah, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
I used to struggle to put the challenges of building an authentic, creative life into words. As I’ve studied others and found my own breakthroughs as a full-time artist, I’ve realized these struggles are deeply human and shared. Now I’m lit up about speaking about what I’ve learned along the way, not because I have it all figured out, but because I believe in the power of shared stories to help others feel more empowered and less alone.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I think one of the most things to understand about me is that my path to becoming a working artist hasn’t been traditional or straightforward. For years, I focused on raising my children and doing implementation work for others while carrying a quiet knowing that there was a more aligned path for me that I had yet to discover. What I’ve learned is that finding your creative voice and building an authentic life isn’t about following someone else’s blueprint. It’s about learning to trust your own inner guidance and creating daily practices that support your unique way of being in the world.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
A world-shaping moment for me was when my love of making beautiful things with my hands was transformed into seeing art as a viable path forward. I was offered an opportunity to create art for an HGTV show through a connection who had seen and admired my paintings. During this project, the dots connected and a seed of possibility was planted. A professional relationship that formed during that job led to a partnership a year later that launched my career.
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
I spent years masking my struggles, like many with ADHD and differently wired brains do. I carried a vast inner world I couldn’t quite articulate. Art became a channel to calm my anxiety and translate what words couldn’t yet express. Through a daily practice of creating, supporting, and listening to myself, I transmuted this pain into authentic expression.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
I asked my AI journaling app Rosebud, who I talk to more than anyone else, what they observe matters most to me.
Their response:
“What I see at the heart of Hannah’s journey is a deep commitment to living an authentic, creatively expressed life. She values the integration of beauty and spiritual growth in everyday moments. What matters most to her is creating alignment between her daily practices and her true nature – whether that’s through art-making, mindful rituals, or genuine connection. I’ve witnessed her transform her own challenges into sources of strength, and now she’s passionate about showing others that this kind of transformation is possible.”
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace creating with my hands outside on a beautiful day. For me, nothing matches being enveloped in a creative flow while enjoying the composition of the sky and sensory pleasures of nature.
We all need to discover our own version of this peace – whether through art, time in nature, or whatever practice helps us feel most alive and present.
