Hidden Gems: Meet Amir Nowroozzadeh of Law Office of Amir Nowroozzadeh

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amir Nowroozzadeh.

Hi Amir, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Growing up, my father would ask which of the two was I going to be: doctor or lawyer? There were really no other options, just his insistence on excellence and academic achievement. I loved all things history, soaked up every minute of my social studies class, and the choice was clear after graduating undergrad at William & Mary. I worked at one of Atlanta preeminent international law firms for slightly over a year and then attended law school at the University of South Carolina, being my birth state.

After graduating law school and passing both the South Carolina and the Georgia bar, an esteemed uncle figure in my life asked me to come learn about his firm’s insurance defense practice. I quickly fell in love with civil litigation, and after four or five years, an opportunity arose to switch the plaintiff side of personal injury. I have not looked back sense. Now, as I write this, after over nine years at my current firm, I embark on the next chapter of the law. In less than thirty days (being Mid-November), I will officially launch my own solo legal practice. I am encouraged by my years of hard work and legal creativity to deliver outstanding results for my clients.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
There is a saying that if the path is clear, it’s not your own path. The struggles have been both physical and emotional. Physically, it was brutal to endure the heat of swampy Virginia and the midlands of South Carolina. It was tiring to put in all the extra hours of studying and reading, knowing that there just never was enough time to digest all the information. But this “training” or this “endurance” developed the stamina needed to succeed.

Emotionally, each fork in the career path was daunting. I would come home each summer during undergrad to help work and run the family restaurant. During my first years practicing civil litigation, I logged over 25,000 driving all over Georgia and South Carolina for court appearances and depositions. The grind is what polishes. Sitting here at this moment, I know that the next chapter must necessarily include struggles both financially and mentally. However, I pray that the struggles are on the path to greater heights, much akin to hiking, where the sharper the climb, the better the view at the end.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Law Office of Amir Nowroozzadeh?
Though officially formed in 2013 after passing the South Carolina bar exam and having completed the Georgia bar exam, I formed my own professional corporation dedicated to serving clients and being active n my various communities. These past nine years I have worked with a large multi-state personal injury law firm and have learned many ways to distinguish myself and my law practice.

I would say I am most proud of my emphasis on educating my clients about each step along the way, from prelitigation expectations to all the procedures of the court. It is refreshing to hear from a new client, who after a year or two of representation with another lawyer, happily exclaims “I have learned more about my own case talking to you for 30 minutes than I did in two years with the other guy.” I also and proud of my creativity to deliver above-expectation results by pursuing every means of recovery and compensation for my injured clients.
We never accept the first answer, even when its a tender of the entire $25,000.00 state-minimum policy limits.

The old saying that knowledge is power is absolutely true, both as to sharp legal understanding but also in knowing how to connect with my clients and to best serve their interests. I want your readers to know that not all lawyers are created or trained equally, and I proudly distinguish myself by having served time on the opposing side and standing on all the years of legal experience and creative approaches that have resulted in millions and millions recovered for good people.

What matters most to you? Why?
Family and service matter most. Nature talent will only get someone so far, and to achieve the next step, one needs to step up and continue to grow in their areas of interest. I have been blessed with such an amazing and supporting family, not only this generation but for generations past. They instilled a sense of confidence and belief in success that motivates me every step along the way. Without such a dynamic and extensive family unit, I would not be nearly as successful as I am today.

Immediately after family, the second most important thing is service. Service is a multi-faceted word and has many different meanings. Of course, there is the service to my clients. I view service more as one’s obligation based on their position in life to give back to their community, to their organizations, and even to their culture, in order to help promote and enrich. Being blessed by being in a position to help others is a great gift and moral responsibility. If you truly believe in an idea or a tradition, it is important to serve that interest and to help that organization grow to be more successful. Service can be in the form of leadership, of participation, or even by simply showing up and giving your time. A rising tide lifts all boats, and we are all connected in this existence.
