Today we’d like to introduce you to Amoye Henry, MBA.
Amoye, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Seeing the need for a centralized data space for accurate, measurable data, Pitch Better was formed to fill that void. Through our market research work, programs and services, we equip businesses with resources and tools to grow their business and ensure that entrepreneurs are using research-based insights to make data-informed business decisions.
What started as passionate voluntary work has garnered a lot of support from both private and government entities pushing us to impact over 20,000 women in Canada alone.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Getting started in the business world has never been easy. It takes determination and resilience to achieve an honorable, admirable feat. From being turned for meetings, inaccessibility of funds to termination of contracts, just to name a few, has been some of the challenges I’ve had to face as an entrepreneur. In all these, I did not let it put me down, it only fueled me up to focus on my mission of empowering and influencing the development of people.
As you know, we’re big fans of AH Consulting / Pitch Better Canada & Africa. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
AH Consulting is a global consulting firm built for multi-faceted founders looking to capture more market share in their innovation-driven industries. AH Consulting helps the underdog win through impactful strategies.
Also, as a co-founder of Pitch Better Canada & Africa, we’re focused on enabling entrepreneurs in underrepresented communities to tap into growth opportunities not only in Canada but globally. Through our market research work, programs and services, we equip businesses with resources and tools to grow their business and ensure that entrepreneurs are using research-based insights to make data-informed business decisions.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Canada is one of the most diverse countries in the world and growing up as a black girl was not an absolutely smooth path. As a Canadian of Jamaican descent, I remember how my character and values were shaped by my Jamaican origin, especially with my grandfather’s masculinity playing an important role.
