Hidden Gems: Meet Andrea Ward

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Ward.

Hi Andrea, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
I am a native of Hartford, Connecticut, residing in Atlanta, Georgia, for over thirty years now. Despite having an ideal upbringing, I have experienced and overcame generational curses that made life challenging at times, and I am a domestic violence survivor. Yet, through these difficult times, I drew closer to God and allowed Him to shift my perspective from a weak, feeling defeated woman to introducing me to a powerful, wise woman through my obedience and trust in Him.

Along my journey, I experienced what I call balance― pain in areas as a single mother (at the time) trying to make ends meet and reengaging in an abusive relationship imagining the opposite, desiring a healthy family with their father. Yet, I was blessed with excellent career opportunities in the Healthcare Industry, which allowed me to change my mind and step out of the chaos and desire more for myself, my children, and our lives.

As a result of these opportunities, I leverage over 20 years of extensive knowledge and experience, including ten years’ trailblazing in Healthcare Administration and Integrated Acute Care. After spending several years in Healthcare Operations and Management, another opportunity presented to embark on a creative and fulfilling path. I departed from Corporate America in 2016 to expand my focus, now utilizing my passion as an owner of businesses and a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road. I am sure you can imagine some of the emotional struggles of living in a dysfunctional environment. And the reoccurring financial hardships that I experienced were exhausting and discouraging. I now know that I was fighting something that was working behind the scenes to keep me in financial bondage― generational curses.

I am a firm believer that when we come to the end of ourselves or realize that our plans did not produce the anticipated outcomes, we tend to be open to receiving a better way or approach. The better way for me was prayer, and I sought God for answers. As a result, He revealed to me how my beliefs, behaviors, and patterns were supporting the hardships and He taught me how to audit my times, and seasons (years) to gain the advantage and destroy certain cycles that I was experiencing in my life. And He gave me specific instructions to carry out, and it has been a process. During this time, I began to understand how critical our obedience is to change the narrative, which establishes a different reality for our children, our posterity. When we learn in the moment, we tend to retain it better and realize that it’s a tool and weapon to help others experience freedom in their lives too. And this led to another great opportunity for generational blessings.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

And, I am the steward of Grace Is Power Ministries, a global ministry headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. We serve as a justice ministry, empowered by grace to deliver God’s people and reconcile them back to Him by the salvation offered through Jesus Christ. We are committed to setting people and territories free from the kingdom of darkness by enforcing the full benefits of the Cross of Calvary with testimony outreach, prophetic empowerment, workshops and courses, teaching, supernatural inner healing, and deliverance. This ministry informs, introduces, and extends the invitation to know God (the Trinity). Lastly, I am the founder and CEO of Kingdom Heir Wear, Joint-Heir Apparel. It’s a Bold, Encouraging, and Edifying Christian brand that originated while advancing through spiritual warfare, and each design has a significant meaning. It is designed for believers to wear their faith and announce the Word of God while strengthening their faith and the faith of others. Kingdom Heir Wear is a tool to evangelize, saving souls through the redemptive love of Jesus Christ. And we are known for our declarations and hope during challenging times.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
So many people have impacted my life. So I won’t attempt to differentiate their roles because some were all in one (mentor, cheerleader, coach, helper, etc.) in different seasons of my life. After all, they have been instrumental in my positive progression and helping me to arrive in my now. We have helpers everywhere we go. For instance, helpers are: someone positioned to open our understanding, encourage us, love on us, feed us, give us somewhere to live, cloth us, repair our tires, fix our vehicle, give us an opportunity, affirm and validate us, make us laugh on a day when we feel low, force-feed us the Word of God even when we are discouraged and don’t want it, support or take care of our children, help our parents, teach us something we didn’t know, fight for us, help us scale, or cheer us on with genuine enthusiasm.

I call them destiny helpers. They were assigned by God to help me through my process and to guide me along my journey. While understanding life and pursuing my destiny in God, they were intricately positioned during critical junctures to support my growth and success. I am forever grateful for their leadership, guidance, kindness, and love.
