Today we’d like to introduce you to Ava Anderson.
Hi Ava, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I got started in real estate while buying my first home and honestly, it wasn’t a great experience. The agent I worked with basically wanted me to do it on my own. She sent listings and told me to do drive-bys, and if I liked a neighborhood, she’d give me the code to take a look. It felt like self-service real estate, and I was pretty discouraged by it.
Around that time, I talked with coworkers about my experience, and one of them mentioned they wanted to sell their home. Together, we figured out how to structure a for-sale-by-owner deal as a lease purchase, and that became my first hands-on exposure to the transaction side of real estate. Not long after, I helped my mother buy a home the same way, navigating the process without a license but learning every step along the way.
A year or two later, I found myself deeply involved in helping my now-husband with real estate investing. That’s when I really began to understand the numbers, the strategy, and what it looks like to approach real estate as both a homebuyer and an investor, all before ever becoming licensed.
When my department at BellSouth was downsizing, I saw it as a chance to try my hand at real estate. I already knew I loved the work, the problem-solving, and helping people navigate major life decisions. That’s when I decided to go to real estate school and get my license so I could be the kind of agent I wished I’d had.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road. I actually faced significant hurdles just to get licensed, including appearing before an administrative judge and bringing more than 10 people to testify on my behalf before I was granted my real estate license. So perseverance was part of my journey from day one.
As a new real estate professional, learning the ropes and understanding how to navigate a business was difficult.
Not long after that, the market experienced a major downturn, and I had to quickly learn to navigate short sales and foreclosures to help clients navigate a very different market.
What I’ve learned is that real estate is always evolving. Every year brings new challenges, and success comes from knowing how to pivot, adapt, and continue serving clients well no matter what the market looks like.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
What people should know about me is that I don’t believe real estate is one-size-fits-all. I work with buyers, sellers, and investors throughout Metro Atlanta, and I specialize in guiding people through major life changes, whether that’s upsizing, downsizing, relocating, or navigating a more complex sale.
I’m known for being highly strategic, detail-oriented, and deeply committed to my clients. I take the time to understand not just the transaction, but the person behind it and their goals, timeline, and what this move truly represents in their life.
What sets me apart is experience across multiple market cycles and situations. I’ve worked through booming markets, downturns, distressed properties, new construction, luxury homes, and investment scenarios. I know how to pivot when conditions change and how to protect my clients’ interests when the process gets complicated.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of building a business rooted in trust, education, and advocacy. My brand is about helping people step confidently into what’s next, with care. I want readers to know that when they work with me, they’re getting more than an agent. They’re getting a trusted advisor who is fully invested in their outcome, from the first conversation to the final closing and beyond. I am the lifetime agent.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me is my faith, my family, and my health. They’re the foundation of everything I do. My faith keeps me grounded and gives me perspective, my family is my why, and my health allows me to show up fully for my loved ones and for my clients.
Real estate can be demanding, and those priorities help me stay balanced, focused, and present. When those things are aligned, I’m able to serve at a higher level and make thoughtful decisions, both personally and professionally.
