Today we’d like to introduce you to Bernard King.
Hi Bernard, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am originally from Ghana, came to the states at a young age. Ever since I was a kid, I’ve always been a big fan of art. I have always had a business mindset since I was in college. I’ve always had dreams of starting my own business one day. I love to be creative and think outside the box. I bought my first camera in February 2017 with the intention to learn only video. When I bought the camera I decided to learn photography and I fell in love with it. Taking pictures and videos have been a joy over the past few years, I have learned alot about creativity and I have met a lot of people who have inspired and encouraged me along the way.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Turning a hobby into a business is challenging. Learning to create photos and videos is fun and exciting but running a business doesn’t introduce the same amount of fun and excitement. There are two main challenges I face when dealing with clientele work. First is ensuring their business brand and my creative direction connect seamlessly. Number two is website development, creating a website without any experiences is challenging.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
K1NGPRODUTION is a multimedia business that started in 2017. It started out as one person freelancing. I started this company in Maryland but moved to Atlanta to continue my journey. This business specializes in photography and filmmaking. I am currently working on switching from freelancer to a production company. I am most proud of how far I’ve come in this journey; I have met a lot of great people and I have learned a lot about creating good content for my customers. What sets me apart from others is that I have excellent customer relations with my clients. The style of work, my creativity, I’m very open-minded and care about the vision of my clients and I have an eye for details. I have a burning passion and I’m very patient and flexible. I go the extra mile to bring their vision to life through photos and videos.
What matters most to you? Why?
The sheer joy and happiness of my clients after they receive their final product is one of the things that matters to me the most. This brings joy to me as well because it’s my job to take an idea and bring it to life through videos and or photos. Keeping my brand/company in good standing also matters a lot because no customer wants to work with a company that has a bad reputation. As the owner of the company, I don’t want my company to be associated with any negativity, so I try my very best to always have positive energy attached to my company’s name.
