Hidden Gems: Meet Brianna Holliman of The Beauty Aesthetics (Formerly known as Just Mink)

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brianna Holliman.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey into the beauty industry wasn’t something I originally planned. What started as a small side hustle to earn extra money while I was in college slowly transformed into my passion and my purpose. At the time, I was struggling with depression, and getting my lashes done became one of the few things that made me feel good. It gave me a moment to breathe, reconnect with myself, and enjoy genuine girl time with my lash tech. I never imagined I’d one day be on the other side of the service.

Once I started lashing, I fell in love with the experience — not just the artistry, but the people. Meeting new women, listening to their stories, and being able to make someone feel beautiful and confident… that brought me joy in a way nothing else had. When they felt good, I felt great.

A lot of people don’t realize how much I poured into building this business from the ground up. I invested my blood, sweat, tears, and often my last dollar into turning a simple idea into something real. That’s why I take so much pride in what I do — this isn’t just a business to me; it’s my heart.

Over the years, that small side hustle has grown far beyond anything I expected. I’ve competed in a lash competition, expanded into two cities, grown a loyal clientele, serviced a celebrity client, added multiple services, and even launched a second business, that will soon be big like this one. Everything I’ve accomplished came from nothing but faith the size of a mustard seed and a dream. I truly started from zero — and now I’m here.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. I think people often assume running a business is easy — but if it were, everyone would be doing it. When I started, I didn’t know anything about operating a business on my own. I eventually earned my Master’s in Business, which gave me the foundation and knowledge I needed, but in the beginning, I had no handouts, no guidance, and no one showing me the ropes. I had to teach myself, research constantly, and learn through experience.

Being a business owner means wearing a lot of hats, especially when you’re doing everything yourself. There’s the creative side, the administrative side, the financial side, the customer service side — all while trying to grow and maintain a brand the right way. It’s a huge task, and it takes relentless consistency and discipline.

There’s also a side people don’t talk about as much — the negativity. Sometimes people attach themselves to you for benefits, shortcuts, or access rather than genuine support. Navigating those dynamics taught me the importance of boundaries and discernment in business – but not only in business, in my personal life as well.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is to stand firmly on my word. There will always be situations where people challenge your policies, your decisions, or your authority. As a business owner, you have to stand on what you put in place and enforce it confidently. That’s my advice to anyone building something — stay true to your standards, because that’s what protects your business and your peace.

We’ve been impressed with The Beauty Aesthetics (Formerly known as Just Mink) , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I launched my business in 2020 under the name Just Mink, and over time, as my vision and services expanded, I rebranded into The Beauty Aesthetics. The rebrand reflects who I am now as an artist and entrepreneur — and the full range of beauty services I provide.

Today, The Beauty Aesthetics offers a wide variety of services including eyelash extensions, lash clusters, brow tinting, brow lamination, ombré powder brows/microshading, full-body waxing, lash supplies, lash courses, and mentorship. While I’m trained in multiple beauty services, my specialty — and the heart of my artistry — is eyelash extensions, specifically volume lashes.

What truly sets me apart is the experience I provide. My clients often tell me that my customer service is what makes them loyal. I always try to put myself in their shoes — how I would want to be treated, valued, and cared for. I’ve personally had not-so-great service experiences in the past, and I promised myself that anyone who spends their money with me will never feel that way. Exceptional customer support is the foundation of my business, and I believe it’s one of the strongest factors in long-term success.

Another thing that makes my brand unique is customization. No two lash sets are the same — each one is tailored to the client’s face structure, lifestyle, personality, and desired look. In an industry as saturated as beauty, customization is what elevates the service. It’s what makes a client feel seen and what keeps them coming back.
What I’m most proud of is the fact that I never quit. I’ve had many obstacles and challenges along the way, but none of them defeated me. I learned from each one, bounced back, and kept building. I’m not perfect, but I have a real passion for business and for serving people. To think that I started from zero and have now serviced hundreds of clients — that’s something I will always be proud of.

While I may eventually step away from doing services hands-on, my long-term goal is to continue running, growing, and expanding the business. I truly believe if I can build a business from the ground up, I can do anything — because entrepreneurship is not easy. But I have a heart for it, and that’s what keeps me going.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
The beauty industry is only going to continue growing over the next 5–10 years. Beauty has always been a constant for women — it’s how we express ourselves, show our personality, and connect with our confidence. That will never change. What will change is the level of innovation, the techniques, and the standards clients expect.

I believe we’re going to see more advanced services, more education, and more emphasis on customization and natural enhancements. Clients are becoming more knowledgeable, more intentional, and more focused on finding artists who truly understand their individual features and preferences.

One thing that remains true is this: when you look good, you feel good — and when you feel good, you move differently in life. That’s something I’ve learned personally through my own journey in this industry. The demand for services that boost confidence, save time, and enhance natural beauty will only continue to rise.

Overall, I see the beauty industry becoming even more creative, more inclusive, and more personalized — and I’m excited to be a part of that evolution.
