Hidden Gems: Meet Chanel Jackson of The Lchanel Collection

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chanel Jackson.

Hi Chanel, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was groomed from the womb! Growing up, I seen my mother who is a licensed cosmetologist, salon owner & educator that paved the way! She created a legacy and I intend to follow right behind her. In the year of 2015, My passion began with coloring hair extensions and creating vibrant and bold looks. During this time, I knew that I wanted to turn this into something bigger than just coloring hair. That following year of 2016, I obtained my cosmetology license and attended my first Bronner Brother hair show. This experience expanded my mind in various ways. There was so much passion, Inspiration & motivation that filled my spirits. From then on, my motivation grew deeper. I began taking classes to strengthen my craft. I also began establishing my work and brand by working in multiple salons while having the opportunity to work with famous artists during productions.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Somebody once said, “I’ll say it’s worth it, I won’t say it’s fair” I relocated to Atlanta in 2017! I remember the struggles of building clientele while also trying to build a new life and rebrand myself. Here it is five years later, I still face adversities but from the beginning, I told myself that I would never quit! Hard ships molded me into the business owner & woman that I am today. Through this journey, there have been good times and for that, I am very grateful. My biggest takeaway has been that to discover who I am & what I want to be, the struggle is mandatory.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about The Lchanel Collection?
Most people would say that they know me for my vibrant coloring skills and customized units from my hair collection. You asked, “what do most people know me for” This question reminds me of the first time I attended the Bronner Brothers hair show. I created a glow in the dark unit for myself. I received so many compliments and business inquiries that experience confirmed that coloring was my gift, and I began going by “thewigpainter”. When it comes to my hairline, I have something for everyone! My units are pre-customized and ready to wear. Many of my units are glueless and allow customers to install themselves while also styling to their discretion. Something that I would like for everyone to know is besides various hair textures, colors, and styles theLchanelcollection offers customized bonnets! These bonnets are great for protection and super stylish. This year thelchanelcollection has so much in store. Our site will soon have tape ins and u part wigs available. Make sure to stay tuned as we bring more exciting products and styles.

How do you define success?
Nipsey Hustle said, “The greatest human act is to inspire”. If I think of the word success, I think about being able to say that I never quit and that I took chances to win. Success looks different for every person. Some people think financial gain is the definition of success, but for me being able to create generational Health and inspire others is what I define as success. My journey began with seeing women like my mother build empires and allowing others to become a part of it. So, in the future if I can at least touch one person I’d say that I am successful. I’d like to end this off by saying thank you to everyone who has been a part of my journey and continued to support me.

This interview would not be complete if I did not thank two specific people. First, my mother Angela Jackson, she introduced me to hair, but she also showed me what hard work and determination means! In her famous words “There are three types of people in the world. Those that make it happen, those who watch what happens and those who wonder what the heck happened”. In the humblest way I would say my mom made it happen and for that I am forever grateful. Second to my fiancé Joshua Gregory thank you for always supporting me and helping me along the way. You have constantly reminded me what unconditional love really is and I love you for that. I am so thankful for this opportunity, again stay tuned for more of thelchanelcollection.
