Hi Chef, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey started in my grandmother’s kitchen, where I learned early that food is a form of healing. Over the years, I blended my background in psychology and healthcare with my love for cooking to create S&S Cookin— a brand rooted in empowerment, connection, and culture. Today, I use food as a tool to bring people together, spark healing conversations, and build experiences that nourish more than just the body. For me, it’s bigger than recipes — it’s about how you’re cookin’ through life.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road definitely wasn’t smooth — it’s been full of twists, setbacks, and lessons I didn’t even know I needed. Walking away from a stable healthcare career to chase a vision that only I could see was scary. There were times I questioned myself, especially when things didn’t move as fast as I hoped. I faced moments of being overlooked, underestimated, and even doubted by people closest to me. But every obstacle pushed me to trust my own voice louder. The struggles built my resilience and reminded me why I’m here: to create spaces that heal, empower, and connect — one plate, one conversation at a time.

How do you think about luck?
I don’t really believe in luck — I believe in alignment, timing, and hard work meeting opportunity.
There have been moments that looked like “bad luck” — doors closing, partnerships falling through, people walking away — but every one of those moments was actually protecting or redirecting me. What felt like a setback was really setting me up for something greater.
If anything, my “good luck” has been the ability to stay faithful to the vision even when the path wasn’t clear. I learned to trust that what’s meant for me won’t miss me, and that’s played a bigger role in my life and business than luck ever could.
