Today we’d like to introduce you to Corey Cochran.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was born into the music industry—my father, the late James Cochran, served as the Senior Vice President of R&B Promotion at Motown Records. Growing up, I was immersed in the rhythms and stories of legendary artists, which instilled in me a deep appreciation for music and its power to connect people.
In 2019, I founded “Let’s Go Viral Now,” which has merged into Major Label Marketing a digital marketing agency aimed at helping artists, creators, and businesses amplify their presence on social media and music streaming platforms. Leveraging my background and industry insights, we’ve successfully propelled numerous clients to new heights, securing placements on platforms like MTV and BET, and achieving significant milestones on Billboard and iTunes charts.
My journey has been about blending traditional music industry wisdom with modern digital strategies. By staying authentic and adaptive, I’ve built a platform that not only honors my father’s legacy but also empowers the next generation of artists to share their voices with the world.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not at all—it’s rarely ever a smooth road when you’re building something meaningful. Like most entrepreneurs in the entertainment and marketing space, I faced a lot of challenges early on. One of the biggest hurdles was earning trust and respect in an industry that’s constantly evolving and saturated with promises that rarely deliver. I had to prove myself through results—project by project.
There were moments when campaigns didn’t perform as expected, or when I invested heavily in time and resources only to hit a dead end. Balancing creative vision with business logistics, managing client expectations, and keeping up with changing algorithms across platforms like YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok—it’s a constant learning curve.
But each struggle sharpened my strategy. I learned how to pivot quickly, how to create real value in a noisy space, and most importantly, how to stay true to my mission of helping artists and creators shine authentically. Every setback became fuel for a comeback.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
My company, Major Label Marketing, is a digital promotions and music marketing agency that specializes in giving independent artists and brands the same tools, visibility, and strategy that major labels use—without the red tape. We focus on YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and Spotify growth, using ad campaigns, content strategy, influencer engagement, and real-time analytics to get our clients in front of the right audiences.
What sets us apart is our ability to combine organic audience building with paid ad strategies that actually convert—meaning real views, real engagement, and real momentum. We don’t rely on bots or inflated metrics. Everything we do is compliant, authentic, and designed for long-term growth.
We’ve helped artists chart on Amazon, iTunes, YouTube Music, and go viral across social platforms. I’m proud to say we’ve worked with everyone from emerging independent acts to Grammy-recognized talent. But no matter the size of the artist or business, our mission stays the same: to help creators be seen, heard, and respected.
One thing I want your readers to know is this: if you’re a creator, musician, or entrepreneur, you don’t need a million-dollar label deal to make a global impact. With the right strategy, the right team, and consistency, we can help turn your vision into visibility—and that’s exactly what we do every day.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is that consistency beats talent when talent isn’t consistent. In this industry, there’s no shortage of creative people with big ideas, but what separates those who break through from those who fade out is the willingness to keep showing up—even when the numbers are low, the support is quiet, or the progress feels slow.
I’ve also learned the value of authentic relationships. Whether it’s with clients, artists, or collaborators, treating people with honesty and respect always comes back around. You never know who’s watching, who’s rooting for you in silence, or who might open a door for you later.
And lastly, I’ve learned that growth doesn’t always look how you expect. Some of the biggest wins came from setbacks I didn’t see coming—moments that forced me to pivot, level up, and get more intentional. The journey will test you, but if you stay aligned with your purpose, it will also reward you.
