The transition from agency recruiting to an in-house HR team marked a significant turning point in Neiger’s career. Joining a global company specializing in scientific instruments provided her with exposure to diverse HR functions, including policy development, compliance, safety, benefits administration, and employee relations.
As the sole recruiter for the company for three years, Neiger gained invaluable hands-on experience in all aspects of human resources management. This role not only expanded her skill set but also instilled in her a deep appreciation for the human element of HR.
Neiger’s entrepreneurial spirit led her to co-found HIVE Talent Acquisition Firm with her business partner, Veronica Jenkins, in 2017. Their shared vision of bringing the human back to human resources fueled the creation of HIVE, where they are dedicated to fostering growth and sustainability within the transportation engineering arena.
Specializing in working with small to medium-sized civil engineering firms, particularly those identifying as black-owned, women-owned, minority-owned, DBEs, or government contractors, Neiger and Jenkins are actively preparing these businesses for growth opportunities arising from infrastructure initiatives.

The COVID-19 crisis served as a powerful reminder that adaptation is essential for survival, especially for small businesses like ours. As the pandemic unfolded, it became clear that businesses needed to rapidly evolve and adjust their strategies to navigate the unprecedented challenges.
At HIVE Talent Acquisition Firm, we were no exception to this reality. Prior to the pandemic, our revenue stream was predominantly derived from recruiting work, with HR consulting comprising a smaller portion. However, as the crisis unfolded and businesses faced uncertain times, the demand for traditional recruiting services plummeted dramatically.
In response to this shifting landscape, we recognized the need to pivot our focus and adapt our services to meet the emerging needs of our clients. With many businesses grappling with the complexities of navigating the pandemic, there was a growing demand for HR consulting support to help them navigate through uncertainty, implement new policies and procedures, and provide much-needed guidance and support to their employees.
As a result, we swiftly shifted our focus to prioritize HR consulting services, leveraging our expertise to assist clients in developing and implementing policies and procedures to navigate the challenges posed by the pandemic. This included everything from remote work policies to health and safety protocols, as well as providing support for employees struggling with the emotional toll of the crisis.
