Today we’d like to introduce you to DeAshia Zakira.
Hi DeAshia, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
So during the pandemic, everyone was trying to find ways to make money. My friend James called me one day saying “let’s host a pop up” so I asked him like why did you ask me? And at first, I was a little skeptical about the date he choose and the fee he came up with. But it actually made a great outcome and it became something I had liked to do so I kept doing them.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Hosting pop up’s haven’t been a smooth road. Especially when dealing with some vendors who are just in it for the money. You have to remember when hosting events like this and being so young your patience will get played with. But you have to remember at all times who you are and what you stand for!
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I host pop-up events in the DMV area.
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
Lessons from the crisis I have overcome is to strategize more and be more prepared.
