Hidden Gems: Meet Derek Thomas of Supra roofing and major league Rei

Today we’d like to introduce you to Derek Thomas

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Started off as a carpenter in rural Vermont, moved away to Dallas ga to try life, and quickly began working for myself, and never gave up through partnerships, failed businesses, shady lenders, and through some crazy events I ended up owning a roofing company, a real estate investment company, and it’s been about 9 years since then. Millions of dollars produced, and many more to come, but most valuable are my lessons that make tomorrow easier

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
True entrepreneurial journeys aren’t smooth. I’ve had properties burn down without insurance, law suites, shady mafia type lenders from the city call for their money back, family illnesses that almost forced me to quit it all. You name it

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Supra roofing and major league Rei ?
First and foremost I have over a decade in roofing and I specialize in product knowledge and construction knowledge. The roofing industry is LOADED with misinformation and poor ethics, so I pride myself on bringing ACTUAL value to any client I gain. I’m also a leader in bringing new products into Atlanta from Europe. My brand hasn’t even began to be what it will in the next 1-2 years.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
Anything. How to get into real estate, people love that and that’s a high risk / high reward field but very complex and it’s typically sold as simple
