Hi Diamond, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory
I’m a 22-year-old mother from Macon, Georgia. I knew early on that I wanted to start my own business, I never really liked the thought of working for someone else. I’m very independent. I found what I was passionate about, it was wearing accessories that made me feel beautiful. That’s the same feeling I want for every one of my customers. Everyone is beautiful inside and out, once you wear some pretty-n-mink, you will really be feeling yourself, lol. But seriously, there are people out there who don’t feel the best when it comes to their appearance, my goal is to change that! I want to boost your confidence to in yourself.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It most definitely has not been a smooth road. I tell everyone wanting to start a business, you have to have a passion for it. Some days are great and some won’t be, but your passion drives you to keep going. When first starting my business, I found myself struggling a lot. I would look at the success of others with small businesses and stress myself trying so hard to do what they did. I had to realize that everyone has their own path to take to lead them to success. What works for someone else won’t always work for me.
Another struggle was not having consistent order coming in. Sometimes, I felt as if I should just quit because barely anyone would shop with me when I first started. The struggles did not stop there. I lost motivation whenever I would run into someone selling the same products as me. After about a year of doubting my protentional, I started believing in myself more. I focused on creating my business into what I wanted it to be instead of trying to copy someone else. I didn’t worry about what anyone else sold, I remained focused on my brand and how I wanted to market myself. Ever since I started putting more faith in myself, things got better for me. My customer base has increased tremendously and now I have people that look up to me while trying to start their business.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Pretty-N-Mink LLC. We are a beauty and apparel company. Our goal is to sell any products that make you feel beautiful. My customer service sets me apart from the rest. I go above and beyond to make sure my customers are satisfied. I understand that a lot of people, male or female, struggle with their image. My goal is to change that. Everyone has their own thing that makes them feel beautiful, whether it be lip gloss, lashes, clothing, etc.
