Hidden Gems: Meet Diana And Daniela of Diana’s Med Spa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Diana And Daniela

Hi Diana and Daniela , thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Diana’s Med Spa was born from my hard work and dedication as a Colombian immigrant who, like many others, had to start over in a new country. It all began on the floor of my home, with a wooden roller and a bottle of oil. My first client was so impressed with my work that she started referring more people to me, which motivated me to keep going.

I knew I couldn’t stay at home forever, so I decided to save money, validate my medical degrees, and obtain my medical and aesthetic licenses. Eventually, I opened a small suite where more people began to recognize my work. But my vision was bigger, so I made the decision to expand and open a larger space. It wasn’t easy—I didn’t have much support and wasn’t familiar with the commercial system in this country—but with the help of my daughter, Daniela, we made it possible.

Daniela, who is also a medical esthetician, has been a key part of our growth. Together, we have dedicated ourselves not only to providing high-quality aesthetic treatments but also to creating a center where our patients’ health and well-being are the top priorities. Despite the challenges of running our own business, we always focus on the positive and on continuing to change lives.

Today, Diana’s Med Spa is a well-recognized medical spa in our community, with significant awards and recognitions in Gwinnett County and the state of Georgia. This journey hasn’t been easy, but every step has been worth it, and we continue to grow with the same passion that started it all.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. As an immigrant, English is not my first language, which made things even more challenging in the beginning. Owning a business requires an immense amount of dedication and sacrifice—there were days when I went home with just a few dollars, and others when I didn’t make anything at all.

Working with patients is also not easy because everyone has a different personality. Some people love what we do and recommend our business, while others don’t. That’s just part of the journey. On top of that, learning how to manage a business was a whole new challenge—understanding licenses, supplies, accounting, bills, equipment, and everything else that comes with running a medical spa.

And of course, there’s the economy and competition. The market is always changing, and staying ahead requires constant learning and adapting. But despite all these struggles, I wouldn’t change a thing. Every challenge has made me stronger and more determined to keep growing and providing the best for my patients.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
The COVID-19 crisis was a challenging time for everyone, and as a business, it taught us invaluable lessons. One of the most important things we learned was the power of adaptability. The pandemic forced us to rethink how we operated, from implementing stricter sanitation protocols to adjusting our services to ensure the safety of our patients and staff.

We also learned the importance of resilience. There were moments of uncertainty, especially as a small business, but we remained committed to our mission and our patients. The crisis reinforced the value of community support—our patients stood by us, and we, in turn, did everything we could to continue providing them with safe, high-quality care.

Another key lesson was the significance of self-care and wellness. The pandemic highlighted how essential it is for people to take care of their mental and physical well-being. This further solidified our belief that aesthetics is not just about appearance—it’s about confidence, health, and overall well-being.

Ultimately, COVID-19 reminded us why we do what we do. It strengthened our passion for our work and our commitment to making a difference in people’s lives, no matter the challenges we face.
