Today we’d like to introduce you to Donnell Darrien
Hi Donnell, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Growing up on Long Island, N.Y in the 1990’s, like other youths my age exposed to the fast nature of choices made and consequences felt, I feel victim the allure of the falsehoods of “street” life. My street life began at 14 years old in 1991. I began hustling narcotics, as well as participated in various violent activities in my community. After losing my father (he was 37 years old) at nineteen while incarcerated in N.Y., I decided to move to Virginia after my release. Instead of fully leaving the “street” life, I accelerated in the lifestyle which led me to my encounter with the Federal government! A ten-year federal prison sentence in 2000 was the beginning of my path to Rebirth. Released in 2008, I became a waiter from 2009-2014, while simultaneously earning my: Associates, Bachelors, and master’s degrees with the University of Phoenix. I entered into my doctoral program with Grand Canyon University (GCU) in 2016 and was enrolled until 2018. I begin Rebirth Enterprising LLC in 2019, a year after I left a doctoral program, Having no prior experience in construction or home renovation,
I began learning the trade from a relative who is in the business. After about a year of learning and “grunt” work, I began working with a brother in FAITH that owned his own construction company. From that point on, he became my employer and mentor in this field. My company became incorporated in 2020, and since then I am humbled to have stuck with the learning curves and development experiences that have led to incremental and exponential growth in the last five years for the company. I am blessed to have some great team members working with/for Rebirth on various projects, as well as a solid business reputation with our customers based on the given reviews.
Following the ways of FAITH, guidance from the HOLY SPIRIT, and sticking to my personal 3D’s (dedication, determination, and discipline) I have taken the steps to be led here. GLORY to the MOST HIGH GOD.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Fortunately, no path I have been blessed to travel no has included “smooth” roads and I am grateful for what I have learned along the way. Being a man of GOD and walking in service to the LORD JESUS, I realize that struggles and sufferings are a part of my marathon for GOD. Before I was a business owner or a man of GOD, I have led a life of worldly challenges including spending over ten years of incarceration, being a parent and example to six kids and two and a half grandkids lol (one on the way), developing a ministry for JESUS based on transparency and truth. One scripture that I love to lean on for understanding the struggles is, “And we know that in all things GOD works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28, HOLY BIBLE, NIV).
The challenges I, like most people face, is thinking more of yesterday and tomorrow than we should. Matthew 6, verses 33-34 (NIV) states, ” Seek ye first his KINGDOM and its righteousness, and all these things will be added unto us): have no thought for tomorrow for tomorrow has enough thought for itself, sufficient enough is today and the evil that lies thereof. I believe that majority of the time the struggles encountered, obstacles to deal with, and challenges I have faced can be attributed to my own personal need for self improvement and obedience to the WILL of GOD for my life.

Rebirth Enterprising LLC is the parent company for: Rebirthing Renovations and Rebirthing Visions (ministry). Our company focuses on commercial and residential renovations where we specialize in exterior/interior painting; drywall installation (hanging and finishing); flooring (lvp, laminate, hardwood, tile) installation.
