Today we’d like to introduce you to Ebony Scott.

Hi Ebony, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
SheShadyBoutique was establish in 2018. My Foster Mother had just passed away in July after her funeral, I moved to Indianapolis, Indiana to grieve in kind of take a break from everything. I needed to find an outlet to keep my brain from going insane, so one day I was scrolling Instagram and I had seen an ad a women was hosting business classes. Exchange she would help you start with starting your own business, give you vendor list, etc. So I took the business class and at the time I really didn’t know what I wanted to sell but I knew that I loved Glasses in after my mom had passed away I was wearing Shades a lot. That’s how I came up with the Name in just started selling beautiful Glasses. Eventually, about two years later, I added other items to my store.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
At first, it was hard I was grieving I had moved to an unknown city with no family or friends I really didn’t know how to market my business the way that I wanted to gain customers where I lived. I tried to add clothes to my store but I quickly found out selling clothes wasn’t something that I wanted to do. With just selling glasses in not being in my hometown, I didn’t make money within the first two years. I than moved to New York to spend time with my grandmother because she was in her last stages of dementia. Once she passed away I then moved back home to Baltimore then Covid happened in I came across another vendor who had these cute Sildes and purses a light. Bud went off in my head so I quickly added them to my store and that’s when my business took off. I was able to go from homeless to having my own house and buying a new car. Surrounded by jealous family members, I took a loss when my twin brother stole all my money out my bank account and stole all my of merchandise. It left me heartbroken homeless and devastated I couldn’t believe it I was never really able to come back from that because I had to go to a homeless shelter I had to have surgery Also around that time so I spent time recovering from that. Slowly summer was over in of course when I finally was able to get some more fur Sildes I really couldn’t sell them. So now my main focus is rebranding finding new items to add to my store in coming up with a better plan so I can remarket my boutique and gain new customers.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about She Shady Boutique?
