Hidden Gems: Meet Isabell Williams of Edward Jones

Today we’d like to introduce you to Isabell Williams

Hi Isabell, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
It’s funny how life comes fill circle sometimes. Back in college, I started as a marketing major and, as part of the curriculum, I had to take a finance class. I failed the course and was so frustrated that I switched my major to hospitality, determined to avoid finance altogether. What I didn’t realize at the time was that I’d still have to take finance… and this time I passed.

After college, I began my career in the hospitality industry as a manager. I loved it; meeting new people every day and creating great experiences for our guests. But as the years went by, I realized how much time I was missing with my family. I blinked, and suddenly my babies were no longer babies. They were in elementary and middle school.

During that season of figuring out what was next for me, I started thinking about my mom. She was getting close to retirement but had not been taught the importance of saving or how to make her money work harder for her. That hit me hard. Around the same time, a good friend introduced me to the financial industry. They knew I loved connecting with people and serving them well. What if I could combine that passions with helping others plan for their future?

And here I am! Funny how that finance class I once attempted to avoid ended up leading me right back to where I’m meant to be: helping others build financial confidence and security.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I can honestly say nothing about this journey has been easy. From the licensing process to building a book of clients, every step has been a challenge. I started by doorknocking, then moved into networking events and joining groups to connect with people.

There were moments when I thought a door had finally opened, only for it to close just as quickly. The frustration and feelings of defeat were real. But this career has also pushed me to lean on faith and grow closer to God more than any other job I’ve ever had. It truly is a business built on faith.

Through it all, I’m incredibly grateful for the people I’ve met along the way and the clients who have trusted me to help reach their goals and partner with them for life.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At the heart of my business is a passion for helping individuals and families take control of their financial future. I assist in retirement planning, helping clients with their old retirement plans or 401(k)’s, and creating simple, personalized strategies to grow and protect their money. My goal is to make these conversations easy to understand because I know finances can feel overwhelming sometimes.

What really set me apart is the relationships I build with my clients. I’m not just here for a one-time meeting, I’m here for the long haul. I want my clients to feel like they have someone in their corner who truly cares about their goals, their dreams, and their future.

What I’m most proud of is the trust people place in me, It means everything when someone feels comfortable enough to share their story and allow me to be part of their journey. This work is personal for me. I get to help people create a solid plan so they can enjoy life and feel good about what they’re building for themselves and their families.

At the end of the day, it’s all about serving people well and helping them make the most of what they’ve worked so hard for.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
There are definitely a few resources that help me stay motivated and do my best in life. One of my favorites is Every Day a Friday by Joel Osteen. It’s such a good reminder to approach each day with a positive mindset.

I’m a big audiobooks fan! Thanks to the Libby app (it’s free with a Gwinnett County Library card), I’m always finding new books on personal growth, mindset, and leadership to listen to while I’m driving or doing laundry.

And when I really need a boost or some inspiration, I’ll turn on podcast like Craig Groeschel’s Leadership Podcast. It is full of great conversations about life, business, and just becoming a better version of yourself.

All of these have helped me not just in business, but in life. I am grateful for the little reminders they give me to keep showing up, learning, and growing.
