Today we’d like to introduce you to Isaiah Luque.
Hi Isaiah, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve been a hustler since day one — it’s in my nature and the environment I grew up in. Starting a business wasn’t just an idea; it was something I felt destined to do. I created CREATIVE ORDINARÉ because I wanted to find something beyond basketball that I could dedicate myself to and build success from.
So far, I believe I’m doing just that. My mindset is all about grinding for success while remembering to enjoy the process and stay patient with growth — that’s my motto.
CREATIVE ORDINARÉ stands for being unordinary creative in an ordinary world. It’s about breaking norms, expressing individuality, and building something that represents ambition, creativity, and authenticity. 🦚
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Growing up as a young Black kid, I faced a lot of setbacks and obstacles that made the path to success feel almost impossible at times. There were moments where I doubted myself and wondered if I’d ever reach my goals.
Coming from an environment where opportunities weren’t always easy to find, I had to learn early on how to create them for myself. Whether it was financial challenges, lack of support, or just trying to figure things out without a clear roadmap, every struggle became part of my growth.
Those tough experiences built my resilience and shaped how I move today — with patience, determination, and purpose. They reminded me that success doesn’t come overnight, and that every obstacle is just another step toward becoming the person I’m meant to be.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I’m building CREATIVE ORDINARÉ to stand out — not just with clothing, but through the creative energy behind it. My goal is to show people a different way to experience a brand. Whether it’s through powerful visuals, crazy collaborations, or behind-the-scenes looks at what really goes into the process, I want people to feel the story and the passion behind every piece.
Starting a business isn’t the hardest part — staying consistent is. That’s been my biggest challenge, along with learning to be patient when things don’t move as fast as I want them to. But through that, I’ve learned that growth takes time, and the best things come when you trust your process.
What sets CREATIVE ORDINARÉ apart is the message behind it. These clothes are more than just fabric and a price tag — they’re a statement. A reminder that you can be unordinary creative in an ordinary world. Every piece represents individuality, ambition, and the courage to be different.
That’s what I want people to know — when you wear CREATIVE ORDINARÉ, you’re not just wearing a brand, you’re representing a mindset. 🦚
What makes you happy?
What really makes me happy is seeing growth — in myself, my business, and the people around me. My family plays a huge part in that. They’ve been my motivation from the start and the reason I push to keep going, even when things get tough.
I also find a lot of happiness in reaching the goals I set for myself. There’s nothing better than seeing the results of hard work and realizing how far I’ve come. Staying healthy, both physically and mentally, is another big part of that — it keeps me focused and grounded.
Of course, being a successful businessman is one of my biggest drives. Building something from the ground up and watching it grow is a different kind of joy. And I can’t forget cars — they’ve always been one of my passions. There’s something about the design, the speed, and the lifestyle that keeps me inspired and motivated to work harder.
At the end of the day, what makes me happiest is knowing I’m moving with purpose — building, improving, and becoming the best version of myself every day.
