Today we’d like to introduce you to Jai Gibson.
Hi Jai , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I originally started my career off being an educator teaching 5th grade. I saw kids was uninterested in learning a particular subject, the Boston Tea Party. I began to incorporate technology which allowed them to create a breaking news segment about the Boston Tea Party, they create digital brochures, a powerpoint, and a digital art drawing. After seeing students become more interested in learning when technology was incorporated. This ultimately lead to me getting my Master’s in Instructional Design an Technology. After receiving my Master’s I was introduced to building workflow automations for business owners. After doing this for awhile I decided that God wanted me to make a business out of this. I launched Auxilio X in 2024 and it has been successful with allowing me to travel the world and help small business owners understand that automations isn’t just for big companies, I have the opportunities to teach several cohorts, and my biggest reward is just learning about individuals and their business and what got them started in business.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Overall it has been a smooth road.

The city has a growing ecosystem of small businesses, nonprofits, and creatives who are deeply invested in making Birmingham better than they found it. There is also a unique opportunity here to innovate without the saturation and noise of larger markets; if you do meaningful work in Birmingham, people notice, support it, and rally around it. I love that we have a growing tech hub. The food here is unmatched.
What I like least about Birmingham is that it sometimes underestimates itself. There can be resistance to change, slow adoption of new technology, and a tendency to play small instead of thinking regionally or nationally. Too often, great ideas stall because of limited access, lack of exposure, or hesitation to invest in growth. Birmingham has the talent, the stories, and the leadership to be a powerhouse city, but it must continue to challenge old systems, embrace innovation, and create more pathways for emerging leaders and businesses to scale.
