Hidden Gems: Meet Jai Lee Galanti of Organic Movement

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Jai Lee Galanti.

Jai Lee Galanti

Hi Jai, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started my own personal Pilates journey back in early 2001 to resolve daily physical pain due to my slight scoliosis. From my very first experience on the Pilates Reformer, I was hooked! I mean, who doesn’t love being able to get a full-body balanced workout while primarily lying on their back? Lol.

After years of personal practice, working mainly 1-1 with private instructors, I decided to take my love and passion for Pilates to the next level by shifting careers into teaching Pilates professionally. In 2018, I decided to enroll in a comprehensive certified Pilates Instructor program in order to learn how to instruct others in this fabulous modality I had grown to love. In 2019, I left the corporate world, began my apprenticeship, and shortly thereafter, started teaching full-time as a freelance instructor among numerous Pilates facilities.

After teaching both group classes & private sessions, I discovered that I have a special gift and desire to work primarily one-on-one with clients, especially those with unique needs and challenges that many find dubious to resolve – those who benefit most from private Pilates sessions, customized specifically for them. This was when I decided to go out on my own and formed my own private Pilates studio – opening January 2021.

During my years of Pilates instruction, I’ve helped those with scoliosis, polio, MS, hip bursitis, knee injuries, and various Autoimmune issues to be able to drastically reduce their pain & in most cases, eliminate it entirely, as well as move more efficiently and slow the natural decline of their condition. I’ve also helped elderly clients improve their physical stability and balance (eliminating potential damage with risks of falling), as well as strengthen their bone-mass density slowly over time.….

On the other end of the spectrum, I’ve worked with young athletic adults who are looking to fine-tune their abilities to perform better physically in their favorite sports or simply balance out their body’s structural systems & increase their flexibility along with their strength. Regardless of your body’s current condition and your personal goals – Pilates can help! Pilates is literally for EVERYbody, as long as you like it and resonate with it & therefore more likely to stay consistent with it as a practice.

In the last quarter of 2021, I expanded my business space & service offerings to include Sound Healing Sessions. Sound Healing treatments help my clients to increase their energy, reduce pain QUICKLY, balance the body energetically, and activate the parasympathetic system’s natural rest, recovery, and full-body rejuvenation capabilities. Plus, sessions are relaxing and an amazing way to simply balance, reset, and reduce stress… making life more enjoyable & enriching!

AcuTonics specifically utilizes various frequencies of sound forks on the body – on the meridians & acupoints – similar to acupuncture or acupressure… in essence, acting like needleLESS Acupuncture. With sound healing treatments, we can work on the physical, emotional, and spiritual causes of the symptoms manifesting simultaneously. This is especially important when physical pain isn’t resolved through physical means alone because the root is METAphysical in nature.

Then, in the summer of 2023, I moved my existing studios, which I had originally established in Woodstock, to a more central location in Roswell. This provided me with not only a more prime location but also a larger space that allowed me to further extend my offerings to include some small, intimate classes, workshops & circles as well. One of my favorite added features was the ability to offer a “Zen Den” transition/waiting room for clients.

The space allows clients to decompress between their busy life hustle and their studio practice. It is especially awesome to be able to chill out after sound healing and let the work settle in before jumping back into your car and going on about your busy day. I love how this space enables me to further support my clients in establishing healthy, pain-free lives …. and create a supportive community connection!

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The interesting thing I witnessed is that what at the onset appeared to be an obstacle or challenge turned out to be a disguised opportunity. I switched careers and began teaching Pilates just as we entered into the COVID phenomena era. I began teaching in 2019, COVID came on the scene in 2020, and I went out on my own to launch my studio in January 2021. I experienced the closures, of course, in 2020.

Once studios reopened, many instructors were hesitant to resume, so I ended up picking up many more hours as a relatively new instructor at multiple studios, which I would not have done as easily in previous times. This enabled me to master my teaching craft much more quickly than I would have otherwise.

Secondarily, during the COVID crisis, many students who wanted to remain active but were uncomfortable with group class settings began booking private sessions – which helped me realize my preference and passion for teaching strictly 1:1 with clients. Once things returned more to ‘normal’ and the studios wanted to focus primarily on the group class model, and I wished to work exclusively 1:1, I decided to go out on my own.

I had to build my private clientele in my studio from scratch – literally opening without a single client and not knowing where they would come from exactly; I was able to rather quickly find my first client and then slowly build one client at a time via word of mouth, as each client shared with others about their experience.

I found that individuals who wanted only private sessions during that era were rather abundant compared to previous eras due to the lingering COVID concerns. Whereas many professionals stated that it was a terrible time to launch a business, I found the opposite to be true.

While I now specialize in pain modalities with individuals desiring private sessions for differing reasons, in retrospect, the Covid era served as a great launching pad for starting my business – versus deterring it as I was warned that it would. Plus, starting out in such trying times has made me a much stronger business owner too – conditioned for harder times and built for resilience. Our greatest obstacles and challenges truly are our best teachers.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about Organic Movement LLC?
I am the owner of Organic Movement, a wellness studio based in Roswell, GA, specializing in pain modalities. I assist clients with various mobility limitations to get moving & stay moving – safely, properly, and consistently! All pain can be attributed to some sort of immobility or stagnation – in the spine, in the muscles, in the fascia, in the blood, in the lymph, or in the body’s energetic vibrational frequencies.

I use a dualist approach to resolve pain – offering Movement Therapy based in Rehabilitative Pilates, which reprograms the subconscious mind/body for proper functional movement, and AcuTonics Sound Therapy, which in essence is NeedleLESS Acupuncture, using tuning forks on the body’s meridians & acupoints to clear physical & emotional blockages, reduce inflammation, and ease aches, pains, and symptoms of dis-EASE.

For me, whether through a Pilates practice or Sound Healing practice, watching my clients transform from previously limited mobility and pain states into full, abundant living is like watching the transformational process of the butterfly from its previous caterpillar hood! My whole mission is to help people to be able to be more present, active, and fully engaged in their lives…. so they can live more fully – adding LIFE to their years!

Any big plans?
After the studio move to Roswell, I began to offer several small intimate group classes & workshops for up to a max of 6 people at a time for things such as somatic stretching, fascia release, sound baths, and various educational wellness programs. Then, I began hosting private parties, where clients basically bring the class to me – inviting friends, family, and other loved ones for a completely customized class.

Now, I’m receiving inquiries for hosting off-site events for larger groups than I am able to accommodate within my boutique studio setup – i.e., client appreciation events, birthday parties, as well as sound baths for local retreat leaders & life coaches as a part of their program offering. This has inspired me to begin reaching out into the community more to partner with others looking to offer group sound baths & wellness workshops for larger gatherings.

I’d love to connect and work with corporate wellness coordinators, HOA community event leaders, and various professional organization leaders wishing to offer fun, healthy team/community-building events that include a holistic wellness component such as sound baths or mini health workshops. So, that is what I’m looking forward to as far as any upcoming change! I’ve even begun to play with the idea of hosting a future wellness retreat myself locally and then to distant destinations.
