Hidden Gems: Meet Jay Carter of Carter Robinson Consulting Group

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jay Carter

Hi Jay, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
For sure! My journey into entrepreneurship started 16 years ago, but I went full-time in real estate about seven years ago. And let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride full of lessons, pivots, and major wins.

In the beginning, I was hustling, trying different business ventures, and figuring out what really aligned with me. When I got into real estate, I knew I had found my lane. I started in the U.S. market, then expanded into short-term rentals, and eventually built a thriving business. But in 2022, I attended a real estate conference for female realtors, and that’s when the idea of international real estate was first presented to me. It completely changed my perspective.

I realized that real wealth and freedom weren’t just in the U.S., the real game was global. That’s when I shifted my focus to international real estate. I began working in countries like Ghana and Nigeria, then partnered with a global network of real estate professionals to expand into more markets like Dubai, Kenya, and beyond. I wasn’t just focused on owning property, I was learning how to leverage tax advantages, residency programs, and wealth-building opportunities abroad.

But I didn’t see enough people in my community talking about this, so I made it my mission to educate others. I wrote AirbnBOOKED! to share my journey in the short-term rental space, and I’ve since coached entrepreneurs, investors, and professionals on how to tap into global opportunities. Currently, I am accepting more invitations to speak at conferences, universities, and summits about entrepreneurship, imposter syndrome, and building a business that isn’t limited by borders. As well as Autism support initiatives for students and parents as I am a Mother of a 9-year-old level 2 Autistic girle.

The world is changing fast. More people than ever are getting passports, investing overseas, and thinking bigger. My goal is to make sure we’re part of this movement, not watching from the sidelines.

And trust me, I’m just getting started.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Oh, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road! Before real estate, I had many ventures. As a true entrepreneur—which basically means you’re slightly insane, but that’s another story—I had a lot of wins and a few losses. I dabbled in service-based businesses, digital marketing, event promotion, and even product manufacturing. But it wasn’t until I took real estate on as a full-time career that I truly found my footing in entrepreneurship.

Even then, it was a challenge. I had to launch a career in a brand-new town where I knew no one, build a brand from scratch, and figure out how to stand out in a crowded industry. When I got into the Airbnb space, I took off fast and became very successful in a short period of time—until the rug was pulled from under me, and I fell just as fast as I grew.

Being in real estate, there are many ways to fail but only a few ways to win. Your mental health, environment, and willingness to always be the student and grow are key. It has not been easy by any means, but at the end of the day, failure isn’t what defines you—it’s what you do to get back up. The journey is what matters.

One scripture that carried me through tough times is Ephesians 6:17: “Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” This verse reminded me that in every challenge, I wasn’t just fighting physical battles—I was fighting mental, emotional, and spiritual ones too. Success isn’t just about strategy; it’s about mindset and faith. The Word of God became my weapon. I had to remind myself daily that setbacks weren’t signs to quit—they were tests to prepare me for the next level.

So no, the road hasn’t been smooth, but I wouldn’t change a thing. The lessons, the losses, and the wins all played a part in where I am today. And trust me, I’m just getting started.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Ok, so, Carter Robinson Consulting Group (CRCG) is the parent company of The Savvy Group Real Estate, where we help clients build wealth through real estate, both in the U.S. and internationally. The goal of this mission is to make it easier for investors, entrepreneurs, and families to expand their portfolios beyond U.S. borders.

What sets us apart? Education. Strategy. Real ownership. Too many people are out here buying property without understanding the full picture—tax benefits, residency options, and wealth-building strategies. That’s where we come in. We don’t just help you buy; we help you build long-term wealth through smart real estate moves.

But my work isn’t just about business, creating a meaningful impact has always been my calling. That’s why we also have The Ari Impact, our nonprofit focused on creating opportunities for families in the autism community. We’re working to provide housing, employment, and emotional support for parents and children who often get overlooked. This work is personal for me, and I’m beyond passionate about making sure these families have the resources they need.

What I’m most proud of brand-wise is that we are mission-driven. Whether it’s through The Savvy Group Real Estate or The Ari Impact, everything we do is about empowerment, education, and impact. We don’t just want to help people buy homes or invest—we want to help them change their lives.

So if you’re looking to invest, expand, or align with a mission that actually changes lives, let’s talk. The world is shifting, and now is the time to position ourselves for real success. Let’s build together!

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
Absolutely! I believe in constantly learning, leveling up, and surrounding myself with the right information and people. A few key resources have helped me stay sharp in business and in life.

For podcasts, I tap into David Shands’ The Morning Meetup daily—it’s a game-changer for entrepreneurs. I also love Earn Your Leisure (EYL) because they break down wealth-building and business in a way that’s real and relatable.

When it comes to books, a few have had a huge impact on me:

Be Obsessed or Be Average by Grant Cardone – This book lit a fire under me and taught me to go all in.

The 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene – A must-read for understanding strategy and business moves.

How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie – If you’re in business, you need to know how to build relationships.

10X Is Easier Than 2X by Dan Sullivan & Dr. Benjamin Hardy – This shifted my mindset completely. Working harder isn’t the key—working smarter and thinking bigger is.

Beyond that, my foundation is built on faith. God, my pastor, and my mentor have played a huge role in my growth. And when it comes to speaking and securing corporate contracts, I have to shout out Ashley Kirkwood—she’s a powerhouse in the speaking industry and an incredible coach who helps entrepreneurs land corporate deals.

And I can’t forget the Savvy Chicks in Real Estate community—a network of powerhouse women in real estate who push, support, and inspire me every day.

At the end of the day, success is about continuous learning, staying connected to the right people, and keeping your mindset strong. These resources help me do just that!
