Hidden Gems: Meet Jerome Shuler of Madeline Ave Productions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jerome Shuler.

Jerome, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
In 2017, I moved to Atlanta with one clear goal: to build something of my own—something creative, sustainable, and meaningful enough to one day pass down. I didn’t know exactly what that would look like, but I knew it would involve storytelling, creativity, and a camera.

I began filming live events and conferences, working with voices like Nehemiah Davis, Gary Vaynerchuk, Stacey Abrams, and Speak Your Way to Cash. At the time, I wasn’t chasing a niche—I was learning how to operate in fast-paced environments, tell stories under pressure, and document moments in a way that felt intentional and cinematic.

Like most creative paths, mine wasn’t linear. There were dead-end jobs, acting gigs, short films, and even periods of exploring music and other creative outlets. Each experience sharpened my eye and deepened my understanding of people—how they communicate, celebrate, and show up for one another.

Community has always been a quiet through-line in my work. Whether filming events, collaborating with creatives, or now working closely with couples and their families, I’ve always been drawn to spaces where people come together to mark something meaningful.

That’s what ultimately led me to wedding videography. It brought everything into focus—storytelling, emotion, human connection, and craft. Through Madeline Ave Productions, I approach weddings with intention and respect, creating films that don’t just document a day, but preserve a legacy.

What started as a search for “something of my own” has become a body of work I’m proud of—and a foundation I continue to build with purpose.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. For every win, there have been at least three losses. Running a small business often feels like failing 50 percent of the time and learning the other 50 percent in real time.

Some of the challenges I’m still working through are marketing and managing overhead—things no one really prepares you for when you’re focused on the creative side. I also come from a background without much financial security or strong family structure, so entrepreneurship can feel heavy at times when everything rests on you.

That said, those same challenges have shaped how I move. The pressure forces growth, discipline, and clarity. The road has had sharp turns and plenty of bumps, but the traffic is finally clearing. Things are coming together—and that makes the journey worth it.

As you know, we’re big fans of Madeline Ave Productions. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Madeline Ave Productions is a boutique wedding videography brand rooted in storytelling, intention, and authenticity. At its core, what I do is document real human moments in a cinematic way—without forcing them, staging them, or turning couples into characters they don’t recognize.

I specialize in wedding films that feel emotional, timeless, and grounded. I’m known for capturing the in-between moments—the glances, the nervous laughter, the quiet exchanges, the energy of family and community—just as much as the big highlights. My background in live events, acting, and documentary-style storytelling allows me to anticipate moments as they unfold rather than manufacture them.

What sets Madeline Ave apart is perspective. I don’t approach weddings like content or checklists—I approach them like legacy. Every couple comes with their own history, culture, and community, and my job is to honor that honestly. I also bring a calm, steady presence to wedding days, which helps people feel comfortable being themselves on camera.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud of building something that reflects my values: respect for people, attention to craft, and intention over volume. Madeline Ave isn’t about churning out films—it’s about creating work that couples can return to years later and still feel something real.

What I want readers to know is that Madeline Ave Productions is for couples who value meaning just as much as aesthetics. If you care about story, emotion, and preserving moments beyond the surface, that’s where I do my best work.

What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is legacy—how people are remembered, how they feel seen, and how love is carried forward through generations.

Family, whether chosen or biological, and the traditions we inherit or create, shape who we become. I care deeply about celebrating people where they are, honoring their stories, and creating moments that slow time just enough to remind us what actually matters. In a world that moves fast and often feels disconnected, love needs to be felt, seen, and heard—not just talked about.

That belief guides everything I do. Whether I’m filming a wedding, working with families, or building Madeline Ave Productions, I try to approach each project with care, presence, and intention. These moments aren’t just events—they’re chapters in someone’s history.

At its core, Madeline Ave is about preserving love in real time. My goal is to create work that helps people remember who they were, who they loved, and how it felt to be surrounded by community. If the world needs more of anything right now, it’s that kind of love—and I’m proud to build my work around it.
