Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica V. Toussaint.
Hi Jessica V., so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
For most of my adult life, I was the dependable one. The woman people called when something needed to get done, fixed, or funded.
I spent over 15 years in nonprofit leadership and fundraising, helping organizations secure more than $4 million in funding through roles at institutions including NYU Langone Health and Family Life Communications. I hold an MBA in Management and Leadership and built a reputation for execution and results.
What people didn’t see was the cost.
I knew how to build systems for other people’s missions, but I kept postponing my own. I had launched Dream Encore Enterprises in 2021, but for a long time, I treated it like a side project while pouring my best energy everywhere else.
In September 2023, I was laid off. Instead of derailing me, that moment clarified everything. I decided I would never again rely on a single stream of income or silence my own vision. That season of reclaiming my voice also led to the publication of my book, BABYYY YOU GOT THIS, released in February 2024. The book reflects what I know to be true about growth: confidence comes from clarity, and clarity is built through intentional action, not constant affirmation.
Today, Dream Encore operates in two divisions. I consult with nonprofits and mission-driven organizations that have outgrown their startup systems, helping them build sustainable infrastructure, fundraising strategy, and operational clarity. Through Powerfully You Programs, I support high-achieving women who are successful on paper but exhausted in real life.
That work comes to life through the Powerfully You Retreat, a three-day strategic reset taking place October 2–4, 2026 in Atlanta. It is a space for women who are done overthinking and ready to move with clarity, intention, and faith.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The biggest challenge I’ve had to overcome is unlearning the belief that being busy meant being effective.
For years, I said yes to everything and confused exhaustion with impact. That pattern caught up with me. Following the pandemic, I released over 100 pounds through a multi-year physical transformation that reshaped how I view growth. Real change is built through discipline, consistency, and patience.
In 2025, I hit another wall by doing too much again. That season forced me to rebuild my life and business around stewardship: intentional use of time, energy, and resources.
We’ve been impressed with DREAM Encore Enterprises LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a strategist for purpose-driven people and missions.
On the consulting side, I serve nonprofits and small businesses that have outgrown their systems. Leaders come to me when growth has created complexity. I step in as a fractional leader to build infrastructure, SOPs, fundraising strategy, and operational clarity so organizations can scale without burning out their teams.
Through Powerfully You Programs, I serve the woman everyone depends on but no one checks on. She is capable, respected, and tired. Not unmotivated. Not unfocused. Just carrying too much alone.
My work gives her what she’s been missing: clear strategy, protected space, and permission to stop performing.
The Powerfully You Retreat is designed for women who are ready to stop circling the same questions and start moving forward with confidence and faith. More information is available at powerfullyyouretreat.com.
What sets me apart is lived experience paired with execution. I don’t teach theory. My work is direct, faith-informed and always strategy first.
What were you like growing up?
I’ve always been a builder. If something needed organizing, planning, or leading, I naturally stepped into that role.
Faith has always been my foundation. It guides how I lead, how I make decisions, and how I steward what I’ve been given.
One of the most significant patterns I carried from childhood into adulthood was being the dependable one. It took time to understand that being everything to everyone while neglecting yourself is not strength.
That realization is what led me to create spaces where women can be seen beyond what they produce.
