Today we’d like to introduce you to Juan Pablo Torres
Hi Juan Pablo, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I have been playing professional soccer for 8 years. 2 years ago, in September of 2022, my brother reached out to me to start our own private soccer academy in Atlanta, where we are from. I loved the idea and from there we started Torres Futbol Performance. We started our Instagram page and eventually grew to over 21 thousand followers, posting soccer content and training advice for players from all around the world. We only had a few clients to start but quickly grew the trust of many different parents and kids to help grow our business. We now have worked with hundreds of different soccer players across Atlanta, inspiring and helping growing the next generation of players!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not always been a smooth road! We had to learn a lot of different aspects on how to properly run a business. We went into this field relatively new and with every step we took we learned different things. Ultimately now it helped us grow and improve the experience for all of the kids we work with!
I recently transitioned from playing soccer professionally into running my training business full-time. It was a leap of faith that I decided to take, and I am really happy with my decision.

Torres Fútbol Performance is run by two brothers, John Michael and Juan Pablo Torres, who were born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. With years of professional experience at the U.S. National Team, Club, and Division 1 Level; to has been our dream to give back to the Atlanta community that has offered us so many opportunities to succeed!
At Torres Futbol Performance, we strive to offer advanced soccer training for those who reach their personal goals and compete at the next level. We understand the core values and skill traits one needs to perfect their game in a game-realistic and professional training environment.
Our mission is for our players to see significant improvement in their technique and soccer IQ from our training sessions. Our trainings focus on game-realistic scenarios to get the most out of the sessions. We want our athletes to feel more confident and grow their game in a professional environment.
Evert athlete’s goals and paths are completely different! We embrace that and pride ourselves in getting the best out of all our players in order to get them ton achieve their own personal and unique goals!
What sets us apart from the others is our experience playing soccer at the highest level. I have played professional soccer for over 8 years with experience in Europe, the MLS, and the USL. My brother, John Michael, has played college soccer at the D1 level. There are not a lot of people with this experience and background.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
One surprising thing that most people might not know about me is that I come from a big family of 7 kids!
