Hidden Gems: Meet Kara Bowman of Whole Health Masssage

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kara Bowman.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I initially entered this field before having my littles, having always been drawn to holistic healing and hands-on care. After having my children, I stepped away, but I feel like life brought me back with a deeper purpose. Becoming a single mother, navigating autism diagnoses within my family, and living through the COVID era shifted everything for me.

I knew I needed to do more for my family while creating more meaningful work. Opening my practice allowed me to combine natural healthcare with lived experience, supporting not only adults, but children and families as a whole. My work is personal, purposeful, and rooted in results-driven care.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all. My journey has honestly had its share of challenges and ups and downs, from balancing motherhood and new entrepreneurship to navigating personal loss and uncertainty after COVID. There were moments that required resilience, faith, and a willingness to adapt.

But every challenge shaped my approach to care and reinforced why this work matters so much to me. Those experiences deepened my empathy, strengthened my purpose, and ultimately made me a more intentional, results-driven practitioner.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My practice is centered around result driven neuromuscular therapy, with a specialized focus on both adults and pediatrics. I provide intentional, individualized care designed to support pain relief, nervous system regulation, and overall function.

I specialize in pediatric massage and autism-informed touch therapy, allowing me to support children and families alongside adults managing chronic pain or tension. I think my work blends clinical skill with compassion, always with the goal of creating meaningful, lasting results.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Something surprising about me is that I’m naturally pretty introverted and shy, but I honestly love connecting with my clients and meeting new people. I think having one on one interactions with my clients allow me to show up fully present, focused, and able build meaningful connections through my work.
