From Passion to Purpose: The Journey Behind Beautiful Bartenderz Events

When I became a certified bartender back in February 2014, I didn’t know I was stepping into my purpose. I just knew I loved making people happy through what I created. At first, I didn’t even promote it. I’d mix drinks for my family and friends at parties, and word slowly started to spread. After bartending a few small events and fundraisers, something clicked. This wasn’t just a hobby. It was a gift. I was working as a hairstylist at the time, but I decided to take a leap of faith and focus on bartending full-time.

Then, one day in 2017, my aunt sent me a logo of a woman sitting in a martini glass and said, “Isn’t she a beautiful bartender?” The moment I saw it, I knew that was the name. Beautiful Bartenderz was born. When I went to get my business license, I added “Events” because it had already grown into more than just bartending. I was helping plan weddings, coordinate vendors, and bring people’s visions to life. Business was booming.

By 2019, I was booking gigs all across Northern California: Sacramento, Oakland, San Francisco, Stockton, Reno, and beyond. I started hiring family and friends, and before long, I had a full team. Then 2020 hit. When COVID shut everything down, I had to pivot. I took a risk and invested $2,400 into a mobile bar, and that ended up being one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I started doing drive-thru graduations, private mixology classes, and girls’ nights in. I even began selling signature drinks every Friday out of my parents’ house. With people preordering and lining up to support. That season taught me the power of creativity, resilience, and community.

During that same time, I started thinking bigger. I wanted to expand, and Atlanta was calling my name. I visited a few times, saved over $10,000 from my businesses, and finally made the move in August 2020. But life had more lessons in store for me. Over the next few years, I experienced deep personal loss. My mother, my brother, my sister, and several close loved ones. I fell into a heavy depression and truly lost myself for a while. But through therapy, prayer, and reconnecting with my faith, I started to heal. In July 2024, I joined Word of Faith under Bishop Bronner, and little by little, my light started shining again.

Not long after, I lost my corporate job, which at first felt like another hit. But just when I thought things were falling apart, God showed me they were actually falling into place. Out of nowhere, I got a call from ABC Bartending School offering me a position as an instructor. I hadn’t even applied. It literally fell in my lap. That’s when I knew I was walking in my purpose.

Now, I spend my days teaching bartending classes and my nights running Beautiful Bartenderz Events here in Atlanta. After everything I’ve been through the losses, the lessons, and the leaps of faith I’ve learned, that purpose doesn’t always show up loud. Sometimes, it starts as a small spark that just needs time, faith, and a little bit of courage to grow. My journey hasn’t been perfect, but it’s been real, and that’s what makes it beautiful.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been all smooth sailing. Moving to Atlanta and starting from the ground up was a challenge on its own. Back home in Sacramento, I was well known — my name carried weight and word of mouth kept me busy. But coming to a new city where nobody knew me meant I had to rebuild that from scratch. Promoting my business here took a lot of hustle, networking, and consistency. At first, it was slow — I’d get maybe a couple of events every few months. But I stayed focused, kept showing up, and put my best into every booking. Little by little, my name started to spread, and now I’m blessed to be booked almost every weekend.

Every event, every client, every challenge has taught me something and pushed me to become better, not just in business, but as a person.
