Hi Latrice , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Absolutely. My journey started with motherhood — unexpectedly and unprepared. I was 21 when I had my first child, and later became a mother of two. At the time, I was in school for nursing and exploring modeling, but everything shifted overnight. Suddenly, I was navigating life as a young single mother, without a roadmap, a mentor, or a support system.

But I knew deep down I was meant for more — and my children deserved more. That determination sparked a personal evolution. I launched Identity, an initiative to help young mothers rediscover who they are and who they can become. That work grounded me in purpose, but it was just the beginning.

I went on to build a successful corporate career, where I specialized in business development, systems strategy, and operations. I led high-performing teams, optimized operations, and helped multimillion-dollar firms scale smarter — not harder. But after facing health challenges and burnout, I made the bold decision to walk away from corporate and build something of my own.

That decision birthed EvolveWorks Consulting Firm — my heart and my legacy. EvolveWorks helps entrepreneurs and organizations scale through strategy, systems, and sustainable solutions. It’s where purpose meets execution. It’s the place where I empower others to build bold, scale smart, and evolve on purpose.

This journey also inspired me to write my book, 24 Systems for a Thriving Business — a blueprint for entrepreneurs who are ready to stop guessing and start building. Because I believe success isn’t just about hustle. It’s about having the right systems, strategy, and support in place to grow without burning out.

This isn’t just a business for me — it’s the evidence that your past does not determine your potential. I’m living proof that you can evolve through anything — and come out stronger on the other side.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Absolutely not. The road to where I am today has been anything but smooth — but it’s those very bumps that shaped my mission and mindset. I’ve navigated motherhood while building a career, juggled responsibilities without a safety net, and faced moments where the pressure felt crushing. There were seasons when I had to choose between gas in my car or groceries on the table — while still showing up like everything was fine.

I’ve also experienced the emotional toll of being the strong one. Holding it all together for everyone else while silently battling burnout, health issues, and the weight of unspoken expectations. At one point, I had to walk away from a thriving corporate role due to health challenges. That decision was terrifying — but it was also the catalyst that birthed EvolveWorks.

Those struggles taught me that survival and success require more than hustle. They require systems. Strategy. Structure. And a deep sense of purpose. It’s why I built my business the way I did — and why I help others build with sustainability in mind. I’ve lived the chaos, the burnout, the guessing game. And now, I use every lesson to help entrepreneurs evolve with intention.

Because growth isn’t about avoiding struggle — it’s about learning how to rise through it.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
One of my favorite childhood memories was the time we spent living in Germany while my stepdad was in the military. We lived in a tight-knit military community nestled at the base of a mountain, and for a 9-year-old girl from Missouri who had never seen beauty like that, it truly felt like something out of a movie. From my bedroom window, I could look out and see castles dotting the mountaintops right behind our apartment building — I remember seeing them for the first time, and it was absolutely magical.

What made it so special was the sense of safety, freedom, and community we experienced there. We had a recreation center where all the kids would gather — they always had something for us to do, whether it was movie days, arts and crafts, bumper pool, or my favorite: capture the flag. Now, this wasn’t just a quick game — we played for HOURS. We would literally be outside until 1 or 2 in the morning, using the entire gated community as our playground. Because we had security and guards, safety was never a concern. Our parents had no worries and trusted us to just be kids — exploring, laughing, and simply having fun.

There were fruit trees everywhere, and I’ll never forget sitting under the cherry tree with my friends, eating until we were full. The whole community felt like one big extended family. It was a rare kind of joy and freedom that I hadn’t experienced back home in the States. Those years in Germany hold such a special place in my heart — they taught me the value of connection, culture, and belonging.
