Hi Latrina, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started my business three years ago after realizing the need for some gaps to be filled in the healthcare industry. I, myself, am a nurse practitioner, but I was also a professor in a Healthcare Management Program at a local 4-year university. As I was going through NP school, I noticed that there were some gaps in the teaching realm concerning nurse practitioners. With that being said, I developed a few signature programs and styles to address the application and retention piece that I felt so many students were missing. Thus, my education company was born! Latrina Walden Exam Solutions developed multiple digital courses, workbooks, a private NP community, and has so much more in the works.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As a woman starting her own business, it has not been an easy road! There are trials and tribulations associated with COVID-19, development, and strategy. The pandemic forced LWES to develop and adjust quickly, seeing as many students had no other choice but to study. The time was there, so we were forced to build the company’s infrastructure up to be strong in a short amount of time. But, as of right, the challenge lately is strategically building a team. Being remote has been a task in itself! As the business grows, I want all my employees to be in the right role with LWES. Ultimately, with these struggles, LWES as a company has gained strength and useful experience to apply to whatever comes next.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Latrina Walden Exam Solutions is an education hub that provides digital courses, live informational sessions, a private NP, and overall safe communities for nurses to join! I provide them with the blueprint on how to take care of their patients when they walk into the clinic. The method behind doing so is utilized by teaching them the application and rationale of the information via digital courses. This in turn also allows them to pass their board exams! I am known for providing buzz words, which are words that ring a bell in a student’s head when taking their test! With that being said, it is simply my teaching skills that set me apart. I take pride in making sure my students are educated but not bored and dreading lessons and content necessary for their success in passing their board exams! In addition to my teaching skills, I work hard to make sure the products that I am distributing are affordable.
I want the readers to know that I took my own personal observations and experience in the healthcare industry and transformed it into my own. It was a personal decision to do this because I want anyone going into taking their AANP, ANCC, or AGNP to walk into their testing room with confidence. I teach confidence, patience, and mastery regarding the information students need to know!
