Hidden Gems: Meet Maddy Milk of Miss L’s Sandwich Shop

Today we’d like to introduce you to Maddy Milk. They and their team shared their story with us below:

Maddy Milk

Miss L’s Sandwich Shop opened in Downtown Acworth in 2001 by the late Karen “Miss L” Littlefield. At the time, there was no place for people to come and eat downtown for a quick lunch. Nothing was built on Cobb Parkway/41 at the time other than fast food. Miss L wanted to provide healthy alternatives that also gave the “homey feeling” of being in your mom’s kitchen. She worked tirelessly and became the go-to place for unique Boars Head Sandwiches and baked goods.

Sadly, Miss L passed away in April 2023 leaving the business to her granddaughter, Maddy. Miss L was a gem and will be forever missed in the community. Maddy grew up in the shop, working off and on throughout her life while attending college and raising babies. Maddy continues to carry on Miss L’s by incorporating her grandmother’s recipes and love for baking. Miss L’s offers custom cakes and catering. She hopes to expand the menu by offering breakfast and private events with the new expansion of their current building.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
We have always been a “word of mouth” establishment, but in today’s world, that just isn’t as feasible.

Luckily, social media is a great way to share updates about your business and bring in new clientele. However, social media is a major challenge as I have no interest in it. I would much rather be baking or making sandwiches.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you, or support you?
Word of mouth! Follow us on Facebook or Instagram. Look out for our special events! Think of us for your next catering or private event.

We offer unique Boars Head Sandwiches. Our menu is unlike any other sandwich menu you’ll come across. You can put anything on a sandwich and it will be yummy.
