I have always had an infatuation with comfortable T-shirts and casual clothing as a whole. I remember as a young boy rushing home from the bus stop to change out of my school clothes and into my favorite Spider-Man tee. Through the years, as most guys will admit, I have a few tees that have withstood the “days of my life” and have brought me comfort and joy through life’s ups and downs, twists and turns. However, it wasn’t until I moved to Harlem and worked at a fashion show where a designer put a full collection of t-shirts on the runway that I knew I too wanted to create a line. Fast forward, and the pandemic hit. In my time alone, I truly started to dream and envision graphics that were meaningful to me and that I hoped at least my friends would appreciate. I started an e-commerce brand, and it grew from there. Today Baby Boy Clothing Brand is making more strides and creating more mind-provoking and imagery graphics for everyone to enjoy. From whimsical to black beauty to inspirational.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has most definitely not been an easy one but worth the stoplights and the U-turns. My biggest obstacle has been getting a good groove and flow with modern-day algorithms and reels. I’m not big on being in front of the camera but honestly, live videos are huge right now. If I had anything to do over or to overcome, social media training would be one.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Trusting my instincts and letting the graphics speak for themselves has been the main lesson. Sometimes I second guess that what I’m putting out is too self-expressed and that only myself would wear it. Then once I actually do wear it, it’s the biggest conversation graphic and others want to know how to get it!
