Hidden Gems: Meet Mary Stone of The Greystone Estate

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mary Stone.

Hi Mary, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Our wedding day was the happiest day of my life. I have never smiled so much or felt so complete.

In 1993 we purchased land and built our home in Ball Ground, Georgia. Through the years, my husband, Robert, has lovingly landscaped the property and has gained his greatest joy from sharing it. May 2016 marked the opening of The Greystone Estate as a wedding venue. What better way to share than with couples on the happiest day of their lives?

Recently, we opened a second neighboring venue and gave each unique names:
The Gardens at The Greystone Estate – timeless and elegant
The Grand at The Greystone Estate – modern and sophisticated

Our venues are “timeless” and reflect a “simple elegance” that is only enhanced by a bride’s personal touches. We have thoroughly enjoyed watching love stories begin here. Each couple has touched our hearts and each wedding reminds us of our own.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We’re entrepreneurial and no stranger to business ownership, so creating an organizational structure and a marketing plan was easy compared to navigating the variety of social media platforms brides use! It has been a daunting task for us to step in and learn how to become an active participant in the ever-changing world of social media.

We owe a great deal of gratitude to our web designer and the talented photographers who shared their work with us, allowing us to share it with others. Now social media is just an extension of our love for weddings and a chance to relive the moments that make us smile.

Regularly interacting with our brides, past, and future has become one of the most enjoyable things we get to do!

We are a north Georgia wedding venue specializing in creating stress-free, elegant weddings and lasting Best-Day-Ever memories.

We’re known for our professionalism, organization, and transparent pricing.

We’re most proud when a couple chooses to share their wedding day with us. That decision is the beginning of a new friendship and we consider it an honor.

There are so many beautiful north Georgia venues, most of which are barns or vineyards. What sets us apart is that we are neither. Our venues are flooded with natural light and surrounded with stone walls, water features and meticulously landscaped grounds. We’re a unique option for brides looking in the north Georgia area.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
We don’t believe in “luck”. We believe that God has orchestrated our steps and led us to be exactly where we are today. We have countless stories of how He has guided us and protected us along the way.

“Man plans his way, but it is God who directs his steps.” Proverbs 16:9

Every business takes hard work and dedication. Ours is no different but it has been a labor of love, knowing that we are exactly where God wants us to be.

Being able to work together as a couple has been an additional blessing. We’ve grown closer as we’ve learned to rely on each other’s strengths and support each other through challenges.

God has blessed us in allowing us to be stewards of The Greystone Estate.
