Hidden Gems: Meet Natasha Barrow of NLB Dispatch and Logistics

Today we’d like to introduce you to Natasha Barrow.

Hi Natasha, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I currently work as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant work in the rehab department of a Skilled Nursing Home. COVID was really hard and even though I worked right through Covid just seeing how many people lost their jobs I decided it was time to start my own business. A friend of mine is a truck driver and he told me about getting my CDL licenses and getting into the trucking industry. I did not want to be a truck driver, so I started looking into other avenues such as dispatching and brokering. I decided to go

with dispatching. I watched videos on YouTube and Facebook then I came across a course which I took. I started my business in March 2022 and I have been enjoying it thus far. I especially enjoy being able to work from anywhere and having time on my hands to do the things I love.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting a business always has its ups and downs. For me, being new to dispatching and the trucking industry I struggled with finding drivers. I was not a fan of code calling, but I knew I  had to get out of my own head and just got for it. I got a lot of no’s when I first started but I never gave up. It took about 2 months to sign on my first driver.
As you know, we’re big fans of NLB Dispatch and Logistics LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We are a freight dispatching company that is independently owned. We help owners/operators find loads and handle all of the paperwork on the back end. This way the drivers can focus on driving and delivering their loads safely. We are currently accepting owners/operators and new authorities are welcomed, so feel free to contact us at nlbdispatching@gmail.com.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
I like the diversity here in Metro Atlanta. The only thing I dislike is not being able to a get good bagel and cream cheese lol. I grew up in NYC so I was used to getting my bagel whenever I needed.
