Today we’d like to introduce you to Natt Nyah.
Hi Natt, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I have always highly valued self-exploration and authenticity. I grew up in the Midwest as a transracially adopted person and having a healthy identity and purposeful life has always been very important to me. While growing up I was active in sports and dance and always looked for creative ventures. I earned a degree in Social Work and Psychology and after college I worked in the mental health and social services field for 7 years. During this time, I began developing as an artist and a creative. I moved from Milwaukee, WI to Las Vegas, NV and began building my brand. It was important to me to develop a brand that is authentic to myself and one which encompasses my values as a naturalist and sensualist. It is important for me to display holistic hair care and styles and offer natural and handmade products.
I began my loc journey at the age of 17. What started as an intentional effort to connect with self has led me to self-awareness and freedom which has enhanced my life and has hopefully inspired others to explore theirs. Nyah’s Valley has given me a beautiful outlet to express myself and create the art I want to create.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The most challenging aspect has been moving forward without a clear path or a how-to guide. Things can feel like a hot mess at times and days have been dark. Being a presence on social media and being unapologetic about my beliefs regarding sensuality, my art and moving forward with my business ventures came with opinions and judgements throughout the years. However, I deeply trust my purpose, vision, self-teaching skills and determination to lead the way.

Nyah’s Valley provides holistic and handmade hair, body and feminine care products. My latest venture is the creation of an original lingerie collection. My hair care line was made to prioritize hair and scalp health. My products are formulated to meet the needs for healthy, natural, flourishing, build-up free loc and natural hair journeys. Nyah’s Valley as a brand understands that a loc journey can be personal and spiritual. To honor that I published my prompt book “My Loc Reflective Journal”. It is an open-ended space to document your loc journey through your own words. I am so proud to utilize my knowledge after years of creating my own products for my locs and to bring it to the community that I care about.
Nyah’s Valley newest lingerie collection was released this fall. It features sheer, mesh gem- toned robes designed by myself. Nyah’s Valley lingerie is a small collection available for limited amounts of time. The pieces are made in partnership with another woman of color’s small owned business. My pieces are currently designed and inspired by effortless sensuality and elements of nature.
In addition to the online store, I am a sensual movement instructor. I have a background in dance and I hold online and in-person classes called Siren Flow. This practice centers sensuality, radical self-care, self-love, body awareness, acceptance and expression. In my class we dive into honoring our natural body movement and connection to our senses and learn how to prioritize self-exploration.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
You will make mistakes but if you allow the mistakes to teach you it can help make you a polished professional. Also, fully lean into your vision and give it the attention it deserves.
